Alaska ~ 8/13/12 ~ Midnight Sun Mouseketeers!

Tinktwins - we'd like to be in on the fish extender exchange! Thanks for organizing!!!!!!!!

Hi, I added you to the FE post on page 1 and also to the post on this page. Did you also want me to add your parents, your sister, and your nieces to the FE list too? If so, please provide me with their stateroom number(s). The more the merrier!!! Thanks!

We sail for Alaska in less than 7 weeks!

Wow! 7 weeks! We still haven't figured out flights yet, or when/if/where we are staying in Seattle pre/post cruise.

Is there a hotel that Disney does transfers to/from? Do they do them to/from the airport? Anyone have any good hotel suggestions for pre or post cruise in Seattle?

Would it be crazy to fly in morning of the cruise? What's the earliest you can have a return flight? Are they doing onboard check-in (and what's the earliest flight time for that)? I'm hoping someone else has figured this out already, as we are clearly behind.

Oh, and we switched our rooms to 6552 and 6554-- still connecting, but now not in front of that little "walkway" behind the elevators. I noticed the last time we were on the Wonder in January, a lot of kids liked to congregate in that area at night, which I was worried would not be conducive to sleeping. These rooms are just slightly off the stairway area (as were the others), but hopefully it won't be too loud. I'm anticipating we'll be getting up and going to bed on the earlier side of things.

Hi Allison, Seattle Sheraton is one of the DCL hotels. They are doing airport to hotel and hotel to port transfers if you book directly with them. I'm staying there but am not able to do the transfers b/c I didn't book with them (my DH used miles so we are staying very cheaply!) I inquired if I could go ahead and check in the morning of departure at the Sheraton if I buy hotel to port transfers (like I'll be able to do in Barcelona as we're staying at a DCL hotel there), but they said "no" to doing this in Seattle unless you book the hotel portion directly with them.

And yes, DCL is doing onboard check in for certain airlines (I'm on United and it is one of the approved airlines) if you use their transfers from port back to the airport -- you have to arrange that with DCL, unless you are using a TA then they would have to arrange it. You might even be able to arrange it onboard, but if you are like me, I like to have everything done beforehand. Our return flight heads from Seattle back to DC around 1pm. People have posted they are taking 11am flights, but I think that is just crazy. I'd rather go a little later and not be panicked all morning about security lines, etc.

I'll switch your rooms on the roll call soon.

Also, everyone remember that July 1 is the cut-off to sign up for the FE!!!

Beth

Good to know about the Sheraton. I'll have to contact my TA to get the details. I did actually find a flight that arrives at 10:30AM on Monday, but depending on the price of the Sheraton it might not be worth living dangerously. At least I'm not worried about hurricanes or snowstorms on my way to Seattle! I'll have to find out what the earliest flight return is for onboard check-in. (We'll likely be on Delta.)

Hey-- is Kristin part of your travel agency group? I've seen some of her posts about the new agency on Facebook!

Yes. Good luck with whatever you decide re return flights home. I think a 10:30 departure would be a nail biter!

Speaking of Facebook, I never thought of it before now, but would anyone like me to start a Facebook page for our cruise? I'm happy to do so if anyone is interested! I'm getting so excited for this cruise ... it seems just around the corner now!

Beth

The Facebook page might be a good idea....my bigger question is, is there a way to make t-shirts with the Midnight Sun Mousekeeters logo....so cute!

Beth, in response to your earlier question, no, just our little family of 4 will participate in the Fish Extenders....all of us (my parents, as well as my sister and her kids) are ALL first-time Disney cruisers, so the extra stuff is a little overwhelming! I wasn't sure I'd do it because I was stressed out about the extra things I'd have to buy, but I've decided that I can handle it!

Great! Good to know!

Hi all,

Just wanted to give you all an update on our potential group brunch in the private Palo room. I received the following message from the shoreside concierge team today:

****************************
Good morning Elizabeth!

The Cruise Activities Team would like to update you on your request for the Palo Private Room for your sailing on August 13, 2012.

As of today there is open availability on August 14th and August 19th at 10:00am. However as you know, we cannot confirm the Booking of the Private Room until Monday, July 14, 2012. The Disney Wonder does not release the Private Room to the Cruise Activities Team until 30 days prior to the sailing.

If your party goes below the minimum of 12 Guests or the maximum of 14 Guests, you will have to forfeit the Private Room.

If the Private Room is confirmed, any Guests that have their own independent Palo Reservation will have it removed. Each Stateroom is only allowed one Palo dining per sailing.

Once I can confirm the Palo Private Room for your party, you will receive a Confirmation Email. Please make sure to read and inform all Guests of the Policies and Procedures.

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

*********************

As a reminder, we currently have 13 guests including Andrea's parents so I think we are all set. I requested Brunch on the 14th as our first choice --- cross your fingers!

I did list all 13 of our group members in an earlier post but if anyone is not sure if you are on the list, please let me know. Really excited and can't wait to be on the ship!
