Rental car question...need advise; I booked a WDW vacation for 6/28/07 to 7/8/07 at the Polynesian. We booked JetBlue and aranged for Disney Magical Express. Now I find out a Space Shuttle is scheduled for launch at the exact time we are to arrive at MCO (Orlando Int. airport), so, we don't want to miss this probably once in a lifetime chance to see the Shuttle for anything. Now, I changed my arrival date with JetBlue to June 27th and also located and booked a river front room at the Holiday Inn Titusville/KSC from June 27th and checking out June 29th. Then we want to check into the Polynesian for our WDW portion. Heres where things get complicated; we want to rent an
Alamo rental car at MCO for those two days at Kennedy Space Center (Alamo because we should be able to return the vehicle back at the Disney Car Care Center instead of MCO), I also should be entitled to a discount as a prior service military veteran, member of the American Legion a/o BJ's wholesale club. But, when I try to book online using the appropriate discount or coupon codes, Alamo online reservations comes back and says it has no returns at any of the Disney locations. Now, I know Alamo is at the car care center and also at other Disney locations, I also know Alamo is the official Car rental for Disney. I booked the airfare myself with JetBlue, I booked the Holiday Inn at Titusville myself (they offer a great discount with Hertz, but where would I return the car once at Disney?), my sister who works for a Florida travel agancy booked my Disney vacation w/o a rental car. If I I try and book an Alamo vehicle using the pick up and return that I want to do, I.e. MCO/Disney, I CAN book it online, BUT
without any discounts or coupons being applied. At that point, with the excessive cost they charge to drop off at a different location than our pick up point, and the added cost they charge customers for the airport pickup, we'd almost be better hiring a limo, or just cancel seeing the Shuttle launch and staying with Disney only. I'm only hoping the Shuttle won't be delayed so all this will be worth the aggrevation and cost Well, have I confused you all too? Any other thoughts would be very much appreciated!
