Hi,

I have been pricing up car hire for our trip later this year.

I seem to have narrowed it down to Alamo or Budget.

Budget are slightly more expensive but list two models in their standard SUV range that we prefer, although I realise there is no guarantee of which model we will end up with.

I am slightly concerned that Alamo will be a lot busier than Budget? Am I right in saying they seem to have a link going with VH and therefore will a lot of passengers be heading for the Alamo desk / car lot?

I haven't booked with either company previously so any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Ali.

if you're doing OLCI and Skip The Counter with Alamo, that's no longer an issue
you go straight to the garage, choose your car from the line, and drive off. Paperwork is done behind the wheel at the exit barrier

We've used Alamo 3 times and never had any reason to change, we have always flown into Sanford though so this probably has an impact.

Why not try booking through Holiday Autos , Rental Cars .com Or Argus car Hire .

They give you a choice of car co. & a PRE PAY Voucher .... Take FULL to FULL option

& Un limited millage , + In Terminal ( short walk to P.Garage ........ NO SHUTTLE BUS )

Rented thru just about every company, Budget will always be last to choose on my list, used them 3 times never a great experience. They used to offer free upgrades, twice had to push for them, tried giving me tiny cars, not even what I had booked. 3rd time at Port Canaveral, booked 7 seater SUV, all they had was a 7 seater minivan that was ready for scrap, no water in washers, warning lights on, not been cleaned etc.
I am sure others have rented with no issues but as I say bottom of my list.

Ive booked with VH and can use 'skip the counter' so there may not be many VH people in the line at the desk :)

Just to add to my pp I would always choose Alamo, never had a problem with them but also have never used budget.

I've also never seen the garage busy....maybe that's cause we're always waiting an hour for our cases to be transported to ' the other side ' :rolleyes1

Thanks All.

I have gone ahead an booked Alamo through Virgin. I am such a numpty as looking back at emails from our last trip in 2015 I also booked Alamo through Virgin for that trip. I have no recollection of this!!!!! Hubby says that we did indeed 'skip the counter' etc and that it was a great service. I guess I should have asked him first :rotfl2:

Thanks again.

Ali.
