We are picking up our rental car Friday night. If we want to use the kiosk do we have to put our info in online before we get there?

No, we have checked in at the Kiosk without using SaveTime prior to departing. It will be a little faster if you do use SaveTime, but not all that much. You will still be offered all the extras by the Kiosk that you are offered online.

Whatever you do, turn down the full tank of fuel option!

You don't have to but it's easier if you enter it online. You either enter your DL/cc #s online vs. swiping them at the kiosk once you get there, or stand in line and have them do this for you.

I created a profile/membership on Alamo.com so it stores all this stuff and I don't have to re enter every time we go (prob. 3x/yr)
It also stores my Southwest Rapid Rewards # so I get credit for my car rental too, without having to enter each time.
I can just enter my conf. # at the kiosk and we're gone in about 20 secs.

It is a very quick process if you preenter your information with SaveTime. Though not much faster than if you didn't since you can swipe your licence to enter your information at the kiosk. Now after renting with Alamo several times the kiosk is a very fast process. Just hope we don't get behind someone who has never used it before.

Yes, I used to use the Save Time link from my email until I saw the login/pw section of their website last year. Now I just log in before making my ressie and it applies all of my info.

None of it really takes a lot of time. I just found this so easy and convenient.

We use the Entertainment coupon a lot. If I were to log in to our account I would then have to manually enter the coupon codes. If you link directly from the Entertainment website it fills the coupon codes automatically. Not a big issue, just easier to link from the Entertainment website.Since we have rented before all we have to do is enter our drivers licence in to SaveTime and it will complete the rest automatically based on our past information.

yes, you're right. We use a Costco coupon and their link will add it in automatically but I cut and paste it so I can book while logged in.

6 one way, half dozen the other way.:goodvibes
I'm always open to suggestions. It's all good.

I think I am going to begin using your method. I have put all of the Entertainment coupon codes in to a TXT file. It is handy to have all of our reservations under the My Itineraries section on Alamo.com.

I do like the My Itineraries feature. Sometimes I've cancelled and rebooked at lower prices so many times I start to wonder which is my true reservation. Too many printouts in my folder and I don't want to hold 2 ressies at once. I've stopped printing the confirmations and now only print the ressie I have 1 week prior to our trip.

One more question about the Alamo kiosk....I'm using the Walmart code that gives a free additional driver. Can I still use the kiosk if I add the second driver? Can I add the second driver in the Save Time thing on the website and still use the kiosk?

Yes, I've done this myself.

does it charge you for the 2nd driver? Every time I used the kiosk it "threatened" to charge for the 2nd driver even when using the codes that offer free addl driver.

Oooh good questions! I'm curious about this too!

Yes, it "threatened" to charge, but I just said OK or yes and went on and the receipt it printed out at the end was back to showing no charge. They really need to fix their system at the kiosk. The first time I did this, I just figured the worst that would happen was that I'd have to go to the counter to straighten it out if it did charge (& there was no line - in Tampa), but it worked fine.

I have read that you cannot use some coupons at the kiosk... What about the $25 off weekly rental that is on the Alamo site under "Hot Deals"? :confused3 Can I use that one at the kiosk or am I forced to use the counter? :confused3

:teleport: I want to be out of the airport ASAP:car: and start feelin' the magic!!!! :jumping1:

We have used many coupons (Entertainment) at the Kiosk. I don't think you can do online checkin though.

Didn't I just see on TV commercial that you can do everything online and when you get there you just walk to car and you are on your way? That would make the use of the kiosk unneeded. Which in turns means faster to DISNEY!!

This is true. You can check in online and then when you arrive head straight for the car with your online checkin printout. Though if you have a coupon you can't checkin online because they want to validate the coupon at the counter or kiosk, something that they rarely do, at the kiosk at least.
