For those of you who have used the Alamo kiosk to check-in at the airport - if I pay in advance online, will I need a credit card to swipe at the check-in? The reason I'm asking, DD and I are travelling alone, but the rental car is on Dh's credit card (I don't have one). Should I bring his even though I can't sign on it, or is it all done if I prepay on line ahead of time???

Hi Neighbor (NF, NY here)
I've always had to show a credit card when checking in with a rental car.
You might want to check with Alamo to make sure you can use a credit card that is not in your name, when the cc holder is not on the reservation.
Or have him call and put you on as an authorized user.

You will not be able to rent a car....

From the Alamo website:
Credit Cards: The credit card must be presented, with available credit, in the renter's name. The signature on the back must match the name imprinted on the card. In addition, if the renter has an online transaction, the number and name printed on the card presented by renter must match the name and number stored for the online transaction. For credit card security information please see CID.

I suggest getting a credit card in your own name.

If you don't have a CC, Alamo will allow you to use a debit card in your name...
