Alamo...A fullsize..Crossover or a Minivan?

We are 2 adults and 2 kiddos ( a 6 yr old and 1 yr old)..along with a stroller and luggage 1 large suitcase..1 large duffle..and then some carryons...

right now I have a good deal on a fullsize..around $125 and a Minivan for $250...a Crossover (Dodge Journey) for $227

I know the fullsize (Impalas) have a large trunk...

thoughts?

I would take the fullsize as there is such a difference in price. There is plenty of room for everything in an Impala. I can fit my double stroller with no problem.

As you are traveling off peak you might also find some minivans on the fullsize aisle.

I would go with the Impala.....the crossover and minivan would be easier to lift the stroller in and out. But to me, its not worth the $100+ price difference. Impala would be my vote.

Another vote for the Impala. Seems silly to pay more for something you will only need room for the luggage twice. The price difference is significant as is the difference in what you will use for fuel in either the mini van or crossover.

Thank you for your replies! We kept the Impala reservation. I am hoping that there will be a minivan in the line up of fullsize cars. I keep on stalking the Alamo site and I noticed that Minivans are now cheaper than the Fullsize cars...I wonder if this is because they anticipate having more minvans? or is it just random? Hmmmm....

Make a reservation for BOTH! That way you will have the great prices, and then when you get there you can decide.I did this on my trip this past week.

We have a LOT of mini vans. With over 30k cars in Orlando and many families coming in all the time, we keep a very large stock of minivans here.
And, it is not random. It depends on the number of reservations made. Of course, those who make more than one reservation, skew the numbers, but....it usually works out.

another vote for the Impala. Please, keep in mind, that you are not guaranteed a particular make of car. Full size: Impala or similar(we always have Impalas with a nice big 18.6 cubic foot trunk. Journey or similar, mini van, almost always a Dodge Caravan or Chrysler Towne and Country.

So you are saying there is hope? I understand that I can't be guaranteed an Impala...but we will need the room going to and from the airport (My DH is pretty good though at stuffing a car! )

I have yet to see them run out of Impalas. If you don't see one, just ask. You will definitely get a full size car and probably an Impala....don't worry.

I was able to get my rate lowered to $122 for 9 days a fullsize car! Thanks for all the replies! If I happen to see a minivan in the fullsize section..we may just snag it!
