I couldn't find any height restrictions for these rides. the Aladdin ride looks like it has a front & a back seat per car & i was thinking that it might be fun for me & the 16 mo. old DD to ride in the back while DH & our 3 1/2 yr old DD sit in the front. It seems like Dumbo just has one seat so I'm not sure that I'll feel comfortable going on the ride alone w/ the baby & having to worry about the controls although i suppose that i could just stay down low.

Has anyone brought a 16 mo. old on either of these rides? Thanks.

I see children that young all the time on these rides. I know that my own DD would not have enjoyed them that young (started doing them when she was 2 1/2 and they are among her favs), but you know your own child best. :wizard:

We took my youngest son when he was 11 months and 14 months and he loved looking around while we were up in the air. There is one joy stick type control and I have found that it never works for me and the ride moves up and down without using it. Do you ever hold your baby and do something else at the same time-- as a mom I am very often multi-tasking so riding dumbo was very easy.

My daughter went for her first Dumbo ride when she was 5 months old!princess: She still loves it SOOOOO much today!

I took DD on the Dumbo ride when she was 18 months and she loved it. I don't know about the Aladin ride since we didn't get to it the last time we were there but I imagine that you could take her on there too.

I haven't brought a child quite that young, but my dd has loved Dumbo since she was just under 2. The one seat on Dumbo is wide enough to sit side by side with your child. Put the toddler on the inside, so she can't fall out the opening, hold onto her hand with your left hand and do the controls with your right.

Also, Aladdin (and Triceratops Spin at AK) do have two seats, but the back seat actually controls the up and down movement of the ride vehicle. The front seat control tips it back and forth (not as much fun). So you may want to but your 3yo in the back of those rides, rather than the front.

Have fun!

Mine went when she was 1. It just depends on whether you think they will like the ride and sit still with you.

Yes, it is pretty tame. I am a nervous mom and no problems worrying about those. Dumbo was my youngest's first ride at 7mos. My other two love those rides too.

DD rode it when she was 14 months old and DS first went on when he was 5 months. DD now 5 still loves both these rides and we anticipate so will DS (now 14 months) and we are planning on all going on in just a few days!!!!! :)

Thanks for the replies...it's good to know that she can go on. Also, Anaheimgirl, great to know about the functions of the front & back seats in Aladdin & Triceratops Spin. We'll go for the front rather than the back, leaving the back for the 3 yr old & her father to do the "real driving". I'm a little nervous about these rides b/c of the possibility that she might panic but maybe she won't even realize the height from the ground at that age....i'm the chicken in the family, if you can't already tell. Thanks again.
