Al & Tipper Gore

CNN just announced Al & Tipper Gore have announced that they are separating, after 40 years together. I know these things are so personal & feel that no one except the 2 people involved can ever know what goes on in a marriage. I just feel so sad when I hear this. There are some people that you think will make it, you know? The Gore's always seemed so happy & grounded.

When I hear about couples who were together for so long splitting up, it makes me realize that nothing is forever. Reminds me to appreciate my DH & that we have made it thru 32 years of marriage & 35 years together. And we still like each other & want to be together.

It's always sad when a marriage fails, especially one that has lasted decades. The Gores have been through so much together.

Oh that makes me so sad. I always admired the Gores. I always remember when Tipper had surgery. It was nothing big, but because he was VP at the time, the media covered her coming home. He was holding her hand and had his other arm around her. I remember thinking that I had never seen a husband hold on to his wife so tenderly. That's so sad.
