We just booked our August trip to WDW. We're one of those school districts that does not began class until after Labor Day, so half of our trip is half Dream half Adventure season. Well, six nights in a one-bedroom value room only cost us 126 points! Thats nearly 30 points less than any other option, and almost 50 points less than BLT and the other higher cost resorts.

Fired up... Love the booking window advantage to access the Value rooms.

I've booked a value room much more than I ever thought I would. We are frequent long weekend travelers, and they've taken the bite out of those stays!

Glad you're happy too!

I agree! We have stayed in a value studio (pool view) in Dec. for 7 nights foe 72 points, and a 2 br lockoff (savanna view) in June for 6 nights for 178 points. The rooms where excellent, resort was awesome, value rooms are all in the front of the resort (no long hallway walks), best value in the DVC. Have pics if you want to see the rooms. Have a great trip.

I only worry DVC will somehow find a way to "rearrange" the point chart and charge us more point for those rooms down the road.

I wouldn't worry too much about DVC re-arranging the point structure on those villas. We still have the standard view at BWV.

The standard view is half of the reason that we bought at BWV. :thumbsup2

This goes for us too! I'm thrilled to have that option at such a convenient resort! Next to VWL, I think BWV's Holiday Decorations are the best of the DVC's.

I agree that AKV value is a value. I just booked a 2br value for August 14-August 17 and it was only 109 points. When I looked at 1 BRs at the different resorts they were 113 points and up (depending on resort and view). So for less points, I got an extra bed:goodvibes. I realize it is smaller than a regular 2 br, but there will just be 4 of us so space won't be an issue.

There are so few of them I don't think it matters too much. Plus from our experience it seems DVC-ers have a bigger interest in Kidani over Jambo. In the long run we probably won't use these over the long haul, but with our first 200 pt contract and a young family its an amazing deal.

Does anyone know how many value 2 bedrooms there are to be booked? I'm thinking of getting one for a weekend trip next December.

And those value studios at AKV are 99% of the reason why I'd love to do an add-on at AKV. Terrific for my solo visits.

I agree. DVC did a wonderful job setting AKV up on paper. We have really wonderful choices ranging from value to concierge; Jambo or Kidani; even whether you want a pool table or not in the Grand Villas.

I am eager to check the resort out in person in January.

(This will be my 1st on-property visit away from my beloved BWV!)

There is a total of 10 2 bedrooms L/O. 4 with savanna view. 4 with pool view. 2 with parking lot view.

Thanks...I knew there weren't many, so I suppose you have to call right at 11 months, and we're going to be away then. I have to make myself a note and then read it!:rotfl:

I wish all of the resorts had different booking categories like AKV does. The value villas ARE a great deal but the studios are a bit tight for families. We stayed in a value studio for 3 n. in summer '08 but we were a bit cramped & I wouldn't do one with the 3 of us for any longer than that. We were doing back-to-back cruises afterward tho so we had a lot of luggage since it was a 10 n trip altogether... We found there was not enough space for the cushions from the sofa bed AND the little footstool things AND all of the luggage. We've booked a Std. view studio for our trip in March - trying Kidani this time as we're on a quest to stay somewhere different on each visit. I'm also HOPING now that we have an Owners Locker to just pack in carry-ons...but am looking forward to having the slightly larger studio since it will be for 6 nights. I think even the Standard view villas are a great deal too - especially over a peak time like spring break!!:goodvibes

This is (one reason) why I'm hesitant to try the BLT studios too...anybody know how the SF size of the BLT studio compares to the Value studios at AKV???? BLT is still on our list to try but I'm afraid it will be too small for a whole week...
