AKV studio questions

My neighbor and I are planning on staying in a value studio for a week this coming March, and I am hoping that someone can answer a few questions for us.

Fist off, will we be comfortable in a regular bed and a pull-out? Are the pull-outs comfortable for a normal-sized adult? (Whatever that is, lol!:rotfl:) We don't plan on doing much in the room besides sleeping, cleaning up, and grabbing breakfast. Will the space be very tight? Also, will we most likely be looking at a parking lot view, or is there a chance of a better view?

We plan on having the dining plan added to our reservation. Will we need to purchase at least a one day ticket when renting our points? I'll have an AP. Of course, the extra day's ticket is always an incentive for another trip. ;)

Any other suggestions or things that we should consider? TIA for any help!:flower3:

Value rooms are smaller than all other studios (about 315 sq ft value compared to about 360 others) but furniture is essentially the same. The pull-out double couch bed is not as good as a regular bed but it is better than pull-outs you often find in hotels. You can buy DDP without purchasing a ticket. Any ticket will be a separate purchase. If renting from a member, you must order DDP through the member (and arrange for payment with the member) and must order it at least 48 hours before arrival.

Note, if you do not already have a reservation, you better start checking immediately because value rooms are low in number and can be booked up fairly quickly into the 11 month reservation window (which for March 2012 began in April 2011).

Values have either savanna, pool, or parking lot view. You cannot request view, it is just luck of the draw.

When you book a value studio, you don't know the view you will have. There aren't many studios with parking lot views, you probably have a better chance of either a pool or savannah (sunset) view.

My DSis and I would do fine in a value studio for a week and she would have the pull out. It would be tight because there's not lots of places to put your luggage, but if you are lucky to get certain of the dedicated studios, you will have a small built in closet, as opposed to just the free standing one.

If you are renting from a member and want to add the dining plan, you don't have to purchase any park tickets.

I just used my 11 month window to book a value studio for 5 nights next June. If you don't have a reservation yet, you will be lucky to get a value room, so book asap.

Have you booked the value studio for March already? If not, you may not have the option of the value studio. They go pretty quickly at 11 months out.

No, we haven't yet. Is there a way to find out if they are still available? Also, do we add the dining paln at the time of booking, or can we add it later?

Thanks again!

Only a member can check that. You can add the dining plan later, but you'll have to pay for it when you add it. And it must be added no later than 48 hours before your check in.

There are savannah view studios at Kidani. More points than standard view.

The value studio is fine for two people. The pull out couch is fine to sleep on. Not as comfy as the regular bed, but like the PP said, not as bad as some pull out couches.

The room gets small when the pull-out bed is out as there isn't a ton of room for the couch cushions to go.

You'll be fine.

What about a regular studio at Kidani? Are those all parking lot views?

Standard view studios at Kidani are mainly parking lot with a couple pool ones.

For the OP we just stayed in a value studio and had plenty of room. We didn't use the pull out couch but I have heard they are comfortable. Like others have said the hardest part was where to store the luggage.

I just called at 9 this morning at the seven month mark and got a value studio for six nights at Jambo for Feb 12 thru 18. I was also able to request savannah or pool and away from elevator. I am thrilled. We stayed last year in a value and thought it was great for the points.

Last year DH had to sleep on the fold out couch for 3 nites since I broke my wrist while there and he was afraid he would bump my wrist. There was only the two of us and we still had room. I don't remember it being too tight with the couch out, but we did fold it up in the morning. It is a tighter fit than other studios but to save on points i feel it is worth it. I would not do it with more than two people.
