I am wodering how close are the animals to the ground floor, and must be some kind of fencing so you can go out on your patio. we stayed there several times , but always up a few floors and with big wood railings around the balcony. From the pics that i have seen it doesnt look like any kind of railing around the patio.

That's because the animals you're seeing in the pics are actually a large photo poster....

The "model" rooms don't actually have balconies, since they're mock ups located in the SSR theater.

Also there won't be any ground floor villas facing the savannah. It will be like AKL where the savannah-view rooms are all 2nd floor or higher.

It's hard for me to say this for certain, because I do believe the model is a mirror of the floor plan. It was a studio & one bedroom/two bedroom lock off they were showing. But I remember thinking the kitchen seemed 90 degrees off from the floor plan and I had the floor plan in my hand at the time. Now that I'm looking at these pics, I'm not sure how that's possible, though.

I will say that anyone who's thrilled with these pics, the pics don't do the rooms justice. That bathroom with the glass shower had a wow factor for everyone who was in the room at the same time as we were.

The first photo in the 1BR tour shows the orientation of the kitchen relative to the living area: http://www.tagrel.com/Tours/DVC/AKV/AKV1BdrmSlideShow.shtml Maybe what you were noticing is that the AKV kitchen is rotated 90 degrees in comparison with the kitchen in other DVC 1BRs? But it does appear to match the AKV floor plan.

WOW they changed the door at the end of the hallway so that you can't see in. That is why no one could look behind it. I was there the first day it opened, actually almost the first hour. I just happened to ask about it and they said they just open. But there is for sure another DVC resort on its way. I saw the doors.

Just returned this morning, took the tour.. I wanted to note that they have changed the sofa in the living room. It is now a tweedy brown fabric, not leather. It looks smaller than the leather one in the photos. Other than that it was all the same.
