I don't know if anyone has posted these. We just got back today and I snapped a few pictures of the rooms. Also one mystery PHOTO.

And behind this door I couldn't get a picture but the hallway and room doors looked pretty "CONTEMPORARY" if you know what I mean

The picture stinks because I thought someone was coming out to yell at me. Also there are two other doors next to this one that are being built into something.

Oh...thanks for sharing!
I want that room, giraffe and all!

Thanks for sharing! I wish they would fix the kitchen. I think it looks so cheap (ok, so I am married to a kitchen designer, but still). It needs more cabinets!

Thanks for the pics. Some good inclusive shots of the master bathroom and kitchen.

I agree. More cabinets in the kitchen.

Anyone else noticing that the kitchen bar placement doesn't match the floorplans on the member site? It's supposed to be 90 degrees from the living room area, i.e. along the entrance hall.

These rooms seem really dark in their colors.
Yes, but they are true to the theme. In my opinion, a pastel blue would look silly at AKV. On the other hand, a brown would look just as silly at BCV.

Personally, I LOVE the rooms! :thumbsup2
These pics make me want to buy more AKV points! :teeth:

Ok...it's been a while since I had what I considered to be a "dumb" question, so maybe you all won't mind if I ask one here & now...grin a big grin...
I presume these pix are from the new sales center at SSR? (Our guide told us last Jan they'd be doing "virtual views" at the sales center. These look seriously cool if that's what they are!)...

Anyway, my dumb question: Are the animals really immediately outside your patio windows when you get a ground floor savannah view? If so, do you still have access to the outside? Seems "dicey" to me--even for adults much less for small children--to have "wild" animals that close!!!

How dumb am I for not know this? Anyway...I've never visited the AKL, so just plain don't know just how close people can get to the wildlife...from these pix, it looks like "up close and personal" in the extreme...is it really???

Thanks!

The simulated view of the model rooms is misleading. There are no ground floor savannah view rooms at AKL and I'm sure there will not be any at AKV either. In AKL, the savannah views start on the second floor in some areas of the resort and the third floor in other areas. The only way a guest could mingle with an animal would be to climb down from their balcony and then cross over/through an electric fence!

They said they are actually going to put a rail in the painting so it looks like you are looking down on it.

It looks right to me. I can see what appears to be the entry door at the end of the bar (First Picture under Kitchen.) And it looks the same as the member site floor plan.

I think it does match the floor plan. It looks like the first photo was taken from inside the kitchen. You can see one corner of the counter in the photo and a bit of the dishwasher underneath the counter. According to the floor plan, we would be looking directly towards the dining table and TV, which is exactly what is shown in the photo.

It's easier to see in the first photo in this thread because the photo is brighter: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1379462

Wonderful pics thanks for sharing! :) Anyone know when dvc members that don't own at AKV can book to stay there?

Thanks

Does the AKV master bathroom have the large closet like the master baths at VWL and BWV? I looked at the floor plan on the members site and it looks like the closets in AKV are a lot smaller.

Thanks for the pictures! I took the liberty of brightening up the last 3 :).

WOW what a difference, Thanks

I can't believe that no one has commented on the mystery door. Is it blocked off now? Can you still open it and look in there?

It's hard for me to say this for certain, because I do believe the model is a mirror of the floor plan. It was a studio & one bedroom/two bedroom lock off they were showing. But I remember thinking the kitchen seemed 90 degrees off from the floor plan and I had the floor plan in my hand at the time. Now that I'm looking at these pics, I'm not sure how that's possible, though.

I will say that anyone who's thrilled with these pics, the pics don't do the rooms justice. That bathroom with the glass shower had a wow factor for everyone who was in the room at the same time as we were.

I am wodering how close are the animals to the ground floor, and must be some kind of fencing so you can go out on your patio. we stayed there several times , but always up a few floors and with big wood railings around the balcony. From the pics that i have seen it doesnt look like any kind of railing around the patio.
