AKV Questions

I have a trip coming up....25 days to be exact ...and I have a few questions

1. Is there computer/internet access at the resort (I imagine there is) and how much is it?

2. Are there any characters at the resort? We are going during Christmas time so I would think there might be but I don't know. I have an idea as how to surprise my kids in revealing that we are going on a cruise Christmas Eve but it would involve a character.....

AKV has free internet access for DVC members. There is a charge for non-DVC members. I don't recall seeing any characters at the Lodge.

There is internet access in the rooms (wired and in the 1BRs the ethernet hook-up is in the bedroom) but you need your own computer. Unlike some other resorts, it does NOT have a business center where you can go to use one of their computers for a fee. There are no characters.

Okay...here is another question since the previous poster mentioned 1BR. This time we are staying in a Studio. Will I have internet access there? I don't want to have to bring my computer, but if I have to, I will. Bills still have to be paid.....

yes you will have internet in the studio. It is located at the table with the 2 chairs.

We stayed at AKV Dec. 20-26 last year.
The only time that characters appeared were at dinnertime on Christmas Eve. We saw Mickey, Minnie (in their holiday outfits), & Santa Claus.

They were posing for pictures & signing autographs by the lobby Xmas tree.

Shucky darn!!! Unfortunately we will be checking out the morning of the 24th as we are headed to port for a surprise cruise!!
