AKV member discount

Does anyone know if the $8 discount has been extended to June or not?

Is that info in print somewhere? Will members still get 2007 points?

Want to do an add on but prefer waiting a little while longer to think through all of the details. Curse for being an Engineer.

Spoke with my guide on Friday and he says it is only good until Feb 28th. However, who knows if they will extend that.

Spoke to my guide twice today, and he stated that prices will increase 03/05/06 to $104 per point...

The first call he said the $8/point incentive was good til March 5th, 2008. The second call I stated that the only reason for me to do this now is if we want to by the 150 points and get our family on the tapestry. His response was, you'll also avoid the increase in March...

Does anyone know if - as a new DVC member - we can add on only 40-50 points?

As long as you are already a member, you should be able to add on a smaller number of points (I don't recall the minimum, but I no 50 is OK for sure). You will have to pay full price though.

I don't get it -- why no consistency on what is supposed to be "official"? My guide is not the only one who mentioned the extension -- see today's post by kathy_carleton on the thread I started:

I just bought this morning and just closed on Monday 2/12 on a SSR resale!! called my guide monday evening and she helped get me in the system quicker and bingo!!! today we did a 100 point add on at AKV!!! I really wanted 07 points and she indicated that even thought the incentive will continue till May, that they may be selling 08 points. We really wanted 07 points so we could bank them for a stay at AKV next year... we do all of our travel in the summer anyway. WWOOPPEE! now can someone tell me how to get those things for my 2 resorts at the bottom of my pages!! WHJOOPPIE!!

While her guide just mentions May, it could be that she meant "through May"; all I can say is my guide confirmed with me again today that the extension for existing members goes to 6/4 -- he knows I want to buy and there is no reason to lie to me and not make the sale.
