AKV Grand Villa

I just booked a Grand Villa. Can anyone tell me why every room catagory has a concierge option except the Grand villas? You would think with all the points you are giving, they would offer the option of some chips and a can of soda, let alone a possible 12 reservations for the sunrise safari! I.E. more money!

Physically, the GVs are not close to the concierge area. Just enjoy all that space!

The only Concierge rooms are five 2BR lockoffs on the 6th floor. Since 2BR lockoffs can be rented as a 2BR or "locked off" and rented as a 1BR and a studio, the only room types that have the Concierge option are Studios, 1BRs and 2BRs.

We had an opportunity to change our ressies at 7 months to a AKV GV, but decided to stay at SSR. Have you seen the 360 tour online? I don't think I would care about concierge...you have a pool table, incredible views of the animals, beautiful dining area and you are all one level!

I just hope that once AKV is completed, we'll have another opportunity to stay there with just our family...just a little pixie dust in the future.

I don't see what the big deal is. They can't let your GV key connect to the 6th floor level? They should allow those staying in GVs access to the lounge and get all the amenities.

So it is not "attached". Doesn't seem like it would be so hard to do.

Why not let all the GVs all over DVC have access to AK Concierge then? It's not going to happen. Personally, I think those DVC rooms on the sixth floor are not as good as the ones on the fifth floor, and, because they are located on the same floor as the Concierge Lounge, they add points to the reservation requirement and try to make it up to guests.

Well, for starters, you will have a full kitchen in your GV, so not much need for the little CC snacks. If I had a choice of GV or CC, I'd choose the GV every time! The Jambo GVs are HUGE!

At least the GVs in AKL are in the same building.
