AKV Grand Villa in December???

How hard is this to get in the 7 month out window?? We are on the west coast and own at VGC and are wondering about a trip to WDW in December? How is the weather? We like 70's and no bugs LOL is that possible? We are a family of 10, 8 kids under 12 so we need the GV.

I thought my kids would love the SV but is there a better resort??

GV's are in high demand and usually book before the 7 month mark. AKV is a great location for kids, but it isn't close to any park other than AK.

I think any grand villa for December will be hard to get within the 7 month window. SSR might be the easiest. Good Luck!!

IMO, best location for the parks as far as a Grand Villa is concerned is going to be BWV for Epcot & DHS, or BLT for MK. But again, as others have said, getting any Grand Villa at the 7 month window for December is likely to be difficult.

Keep in mind OKW has the biggest grand villas, so if you are interested in the size, that might be the best place for you.

The weather in December is usually wonderful (though some days will be cold.) The Christmas decorations are up, making it a special time. Points are very low the first half of the month, and kids are out of school the second half. It all adds up to being the toughest month to book, by far.

GV's are popular. SSR are the easiest to book, and *if* anything is available, it's likely to be there. Of course, people sometimes get lucky and find availablity where there should be none. But you can't count on it .

We would be looking for the beginning of December next year. We just got back from a week at the VGC at the end of May. I was looking at how many points it would be to do VGC again next December and it was way more then going to Florida so I thought I would check to see if it's even a possiblity??

We got one last year at OKW at the 7 month mark. It doesnt hurt to try. Just be sure to be on the phone as soon as Member Services opens.

I know this isn't Dec- but I was able to book GVs for 1/11- 1/8/11 @ BW, BLT and AKLV Jambo all at the 7 month window! Was hoping for 7 nights at BLT- but since only 2 were available- we decided to turn into a GV tour!
