Is anyone on a waitlist for the first week of June for an AKV concierge studio?:confused3

We currently have our arrival night booked in a value studio followed by 4 nights in a 1BR value. Our DD's are ages 3 and 5 and DH thinks that the concierge will be a "waste" on them.

Right now, concierge studios are booked for our travel dates, but I think I should waitlist for one. If I understand the waitlist process correctly, IF the room became available for all 5 nights, we'd get the concierge and it would cancel our other reservations, correct? I also understand that the waitlist stops at 31 days out unless I specify otherwise, right?

This will be the first trip to AKV for DH. We only have a 100 point contract so concierge stays will be out of the question as the kids get older and we grow out of a studio. Our trip in June is being taken with banked points from our resale purchase which is the only reason we are going. We plan on vacationing every 2 years in a 1 or 2BR, but never concierge.

My thought is that we should at least try for the concierge studio since we may not have the opportunity to stay at that level for a while. I know that the views aren't that great which is no big deal. I would consider the sunrise safari, but the sunset safari is out of the question since the kids are too young. Our plan is to spend a lot of time at the resort so I think we'd definitely be able to take advantage of the lounge and food offerings. Even if we didn't get it, then we'll have the advantage of the "little" 1BR for 4 nights.

One of my other concerns is that DH will get spoiled by the concierge stay that he'll want it for every trip....oh , wait...this is a bad thing?!:rotfl2: I think I will add our name to the waitlist, but I know that my chances are about 0%. Oh well, maybe we'll get blessed with a little pixiedust: .

Any opinions out there?

I sure agree with your DH that he'd get spoiled & only want that :thumbsup2 I'm in a concierge studio right now, but have to leave tomorrow.

As someone who's stayed up here a number of times, I do share the opinion that it's a waste for kids that age. I may get flamed, but I wish concierge was for adults only - it's such a nice relaxing place to have a glass of wine and some interesting food from downstairs. A 3 & 5 year old will not care where they are, and the lounge isn't a place they can run around. Most kids sit quietly and watch Disney stuff on the big screen tv - with no sound. They eat, then move on. I prefer to linger up there, which would be hard to do with 2 little kids....just my $.02.

I am waitlisted for the 9th and 10th but have 0 expectation of getting it, I will be happy if I just get my SV waitlist filled.

Well, that helps me make my "decision" easier. We'd need the nights of June 6-10.

Oh well, at least we will have the washer and dryer in our room.:laundy:

I booked a trip in May there 2 weeks ago for a studio. My waitlist just came through yesterday! So there is always hope! I was shocked to see mine came through, especially with booking so late. Good luck to you!!! :thumbsup2
