Anyone know the hours for when AKV Concierge has breakfast items available? How about approximate times during the day for more lunch type items and dinner appetizers with wine and beer?

Thanks!

It's not always set in stone, but typically at the AKL they have:

6:30am - 7am coffee service
7am - 10:30am deluxe continental breakfast
11am - 1:30pm snack items (definitely not what you'd consider lunch items, we're talking bowls of snack foods like trail mix, goldfish crackers, fresh fruit)
2pm - 4pm afternoon tea
5pm - 7pm evening appetizers, including beer and wine
8pm - 10pm desserts, including cordials

I believe you can ask for beer during times it's not specifically set out.

Thank you so much! That is really helpful.
Do you know what they typically serve during tea time?

thanks! I'm trying to convince my wife that we don't need the Deluxe DDP since we're staying on the concierge level. Your information has helped a lot! :)

The club lounges aren't really a meal replacement plan, but I think having both would be overkill. Unless you really want a hot, hearty breakfast each morning, the deluxe continental is definitely filling. You can get cereal, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, bagels, etc. If you have a heavier, late lunch, you might even be okay with eating the appetizers from the lounge at dinner time. I wouldn't recommend that every night, but if you're plans have you at the resort during the food service times, it's nice and convenient.

Just my own personal opinion, but I would take the money from the dining plan and splurge on both the sunrise and sunset safari.

Thanks! We're doing the sunset safari for sure. I'm unsure about the sunrise safari because we're coming from the West Coast and last time we were at DW, we had such a hard time with jet lag. We never got up before 10 or 11am, which would be 7 or 8am at home.

Maybe we'll brave it one morning though. It sounds wonderful.

Thanks again for your info.

B/fast is continental style. The only hot items are oatmeal and an African cereal. The rest of the day is just "snack" items, aside from 5-7, when they put out the hot appetizers.

The food is good, and there is plenty, but as others have said, don't plan on making this your meals. During our week long stay, the appetizers were repeated several times. It got kind of "monantaous" by the end. You may not need a full dining plan, but I'd plan on eating at least one meal out per day.
