Akl?

What do you think about akl? is it a good hotel?

Great resort!!! Absolutely beautiful.
We received wonderful service on all ends, the pool was great,bus service was excellent,many activities for children and adults & great restaurants!!!
There is a lot of info on this resort on these boards so look through the threads.
We had a savannah view when we went last time and i will say it was a LONG walk to our room.... we happened to have one way down at the end. Now my husband loved having the animals right outside our window. I thought it was ok but when they are not there you just look at dirt and trees.
This time we are getting a pool view... cheaper, less of a walk, near everything(pool, gift shop, mara's) and I would rather look out at the pool.
There are MANY lookouts around the resort to see the animals so to me this is a better option. Others would not agree with me so you have to decide what kind of view etc... you want.
The resort is wonderful though!!!

Is it good? It is great. We have stayed at the AKL five times since it opened in April of 2001. Our most recent stay was from Jan 22nd through the 28th of this year. It is truely relaxing and you cannot get the experiance of watching Bongo and Tommies walk by while sitting on your balcony anywhere else in the USA. We love the AKL very much. I would be happy to answer any specific questions you may have.

Well, you can have the experience of watching animals from your balcony at the Safari West resort in Sonoma county, California. There are cottages and luxury tents (canvas w/ heavenly bedding and bath) in the middle of a wildlife reserve w/ giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, gazelles, and the rest. There are safari available and a cafe. So AKL isn't actually the only hotel to offer the experience of being on an African plain, but it is still unique as there aren't a lot of hotels like that. And AKL is actually less expensive than Safari West (but then we've always stayed w/ AP rates, so I'm thinking the rack rates might be similar).

In any case, AKL is wonderful. My second favorite at WDW (second only to GF). It is luxurious and very relaxing. I would never turn down a chance to stay there...I just love it so much
