We are staying off sight and have reservations at Boma's at AKL. We would like to walk around the lodge to see it, is there anywhere we can see some animals. What are some places not to miss at AKL?

Give yourself plenty of extra time. Once you walk in the main door, just head all the way to the back (where the window is). Go down the flight of stairs and outside. You can wander around and see the animals from here!

There is so much to see at AKL!

Animal Viewing (aka the reason we visit):
- Arusha Savanna: as mentioned, out the back door
- Uzima Savanna: to the right of Boma is a door to the pool, go out there to the other side of the pool - more viewing spot from there
- Sunset Savanna: just past the registration desk is the Sunset Lounge - out the doors in here.

Ask at the front desk for a animal spotting guide. Also, ask for a list of resort activites - there is Storytelling at night (6:30 I believe), Cultural Presentaions and a Lobby Tour - all are free and open to everyone.

The lobby and hallways are filled with African artifacts and art - go exploring. Go to the 5th floor to cross the suspension bridge - great views! The store has many African items, along with the usual WDW and AKL stuff.

As mentioned - make sure you have plenty of time to explore - this is a fabulous resort!!!!!

The Arusha Rock Savanna Overlook will be a great place for you to view the animals. It's located at the opposite end of the lobby from the entrance. You'll see the huge window at the opposite end of the lobby when you walk in. Go down the stairs and out the doors, there is a winding path way to view the animals from. If you time it right you might get to here the story telling around the fire pit that is located there also. There is also a Sunset Overlook located at the end of the front desk. You could also take a walk around the pool, there a viewing locations there as well.
