AKL worth it?

Going to Disney in April. My kids (10 &6) would be thrilled to stay at a value resort. My mom insists on paying for us all to stay at AKL. I think she's getting a FL resident rate of $179. I'm feeling a little guilty because it seems like alot of money. Is $179 a good rate. Is it really worth the extra money? I guess I should just be grateful to have such a generous mom but still feeling a little guilty. PS: can't wait to get out of Maine away from the SNOW!

The rate is "good" but depending on what view she is getting for that, it may be great !

As far as the AKL ~ it is an awesome hotel that I think your kids will absolutely love. I think they are at a great age to go there. Once our youngest hit 12, they actually wanted to stay elsewhere. There is so much for the kids to do, activity wise besides just the animals. I promise it will be a wonderful memorable experience for them, especially with Grandma. You and your Mom will love it too !

I agree with Hopperfan. You and your kids will love the resort. Even my hard to please teens think it is the best resort on property!

Now that dh and I have stayed at AKL, we don't want to go anywhere else! We would have paid any price to take our kids there in May.
