We are now only 30 days out from our next WDW vacation :cool1:

We have booked a split stay with 2 nights at AKL (std view) followed by 5 nights at WL (woods view).

Can anyone give me room locations at AKL that will help me avoid a bad one? Such as away from the buses and no brick wall? Would something like this work?

Non smoking, upper floor near pool or lobby

As for WL we stayed in an absolutely fabulous room last trip. We were upgraded to inner courtyard view (bear face room). Someone gave me great instructions of what to request to see the fireworks and I did so but was given the fab upgrade instead. Therefore can anyone give me the instructions once again? I think it was something like this but I'm not sure:

Nonsmoking, N.Wing, Upper Floor

Thanks for any help!

We stayed in Room 5029 this past May. It has a bunkbed, though, so not sure if that's what you are looking for. All the rooms along that hallway are nice though, so maybe request a room between 5021 to 5031 (odd-numbered rooms; the even-numbered ones face the pool). Our room faced the front of the building, but since it's on the fifth floor (top floor), it overlooked the trees out front, which helped muffle the sounds of the cars pulling up out front and the buses.

The location could not be beat. It was a 10 second walk to the nearest bank of elevators. Take it to the third floor, get out, and it's another 15-20 second walk to the lobby. The bus stop is about a 1 minute walk from the front entrance of the building. Take the elevator to the first floor, and it's a 20-25 second walk to the swimming pool. The entrance to Mara is near the swimming pool; that's an additional 25-30 second walk.

There were no public animal-viewing areas near this hallway (since the pool is located there), but it was very convenient and surprisingly quiet. Our balcony was also the open-railing kind, and thanks to the trees out front, it was enjoyable and peaceful to sit out at nights, even with no animals to watch.

Have a great trip!

Linda
