AKL Villas - savanna view

Okay, I know this has been addressed several times, however I am leaving on Friday and I don't remember what "section" to ask for when requesting a good savanna view villa. HELP

I am aware I may not get my request, but I want to be sure to at least ask for the best savanna view section.

My typical request:

Zebra Trail, Arusha savanna view, near the elevators down to the pool.

That

a) Get's you a view of the "center" savanna, which is my favorite
b) Keeps you AWAY from the side of the resort with construction
c) allows for convenient access down to the pool, the restaurants, the fitness center, etc and even keeps you relatively close to the lobby.

The above is a very good suggestion.

I made a note of it. Do you think I should call ahead, or ask when I arrive?

You can request whatever (having just returned from AKV in a savanna room with the worst possible view - had requested Arusha, etc., etc., on my reservation) and it doesn't really matter. What's important is that when the CM shows you the location of your room on the map, before walking away you confirm that it is not on Sunset savanna (which will be the major construction view). Other than that you should be okay.

I've concluded that Jambo house is simply not a place for great views, with the exception of a very few areas. There are a lot of rooftop views on the pool side and less than great savanna views (high floors, people pens, etc.), even if you don't face the construction.

The only views I'm using additional points for going forward are guaranteed boardwalk at BWV and castle at BLT, if that comes to pass.

I'm not too worried, I mean I do have two kids who love the savanna view, but I understand that as a new DVC member and accepting the developer points, these things can happen. I've usually had great luck with Disney, I just hope the view isn't disappointing. Thanks for all the input, I have the one to ask for, and the one to be sure we don't get, LOL. I hope it works.

But the Uzima savanna is nice too.
