AKL to BB; bus or drive?

I have no experience with Blizzard Beach OR with driving myself to any of the parks. I will have my own car this trip and am just wondering whether I should take my own car to BB or take the bus - I know it is very close to AKL but I'm wondering about the ease of getting back to AKL once we're exhausted . Can anyone who's driven to BB from AKL give his/her opinion? Thank you!

We just got back from Animal Kingdom Lodge last Saturday and took the bus everywhere. AKL has its own busses, so you don't have to share them with other resorts. We never waited more than 15-20 minutes for a bus, usually 10 minutes or less.

I guess it just depends on how valuable your time will be.I can't imagine a Disney bus being faster than a car from AKL to BB and BB to AKL unless you happen to arrive at the bus stop right when the bus pulls up.If not,you may be waiting as much as twenty minutes or more for the next bus.Personally,I never have a car at WDW and would not drive anywhere if I did.One of the best parts of a vacation at WDW to me is letting Disney do the driving.It is SO relaxing to me not having to drive anywhere.But,some peolple drive alot at WDW.I think it just boils down to a time issue.I just like the convenience of not having to drive to any time savings.HAVE A GREAT TRIP!

We usually drive since it at least gets us out of the park faster. I suspect the sensible thing to do is to check if a bus is at the stop or pulling in, if not then drive your car.

My wife tends to want to leave at the last possible moment, both going to and leaving the park. So the car always made more sense for us.

On the other hand, the AKL bus to MK, AK and Epcot usually beat the car drive.

I think we'll just take the bus. That's what we've always done in the past and it's nice to not worry about driving, parking, etc.

Remember that the water park buses also carry resort guests to another park or DTD. So you have another stop either going or coming. When we don't have a car, we ride the buses to the water parks; but I prefer driving myself when possible. Mainly, I choose to drive because it at least seems much faster. Usually when we are ready to exit a water park, we are tired and sunburned. There's nothing worse than sitting and sitting out in the hot, humid weather waiting for a bus when all you want is your air-conditioned room. Also, we wear our swimsuits to the waterparks; and I don't feel comfortable (even with a cover-up) riding a packed bus with folks who are returning from the parks or shopping.
