I will be staying for the first time with my points in AKV. I have a bunch of extended family that is staying in AKL. How can we meet up and should they recommend a certain area for their rooms? We will not have cars. Is it an easy walk from one to the other? Any help would be appreciated!

If you are in Jambo, you are in the same building. If you are in Kidani, you could, walk, take a bus or shuttle to Jambo.

Since you are using points,you could possibly change to Jambo to be in the same building.

We are in Kidani, I should have mentioned that. How long is the walk? Is there a shuttle from one building to the other. If so I didn't know this! As for the buses...does one always stop between the 2 buildings before heading to the parks, dtd, etc? THX

The walk is maybe 10 to 15 minutes between the main entrances. Bell Services runs a van between the two buildings.

As for the order of buses:
From AKV to Theme Parks: Kindani Village > Jambo House > Theme Park
From AKV to Downtown Disney: Jambo House > Kidani Village > Downtown Disney

The walking distance from front door of Jambo to front door of Kidani is about 1/2 mile. You should likely request a room on Kidani's south wing which runs towards the Jambo front entrance; if you want to be close to the Kidani lobby and thus close to shuttle, you should request room near lobby or near community hall. Alternatively, you might even want to request a room near the end of that south wing (front entrance of Kidani faces west). That would put you far from Kidani lobby and shuttle but near an elavator toward the end of that wing that takes you to street level and only about a 5 minute walk to Jambo's front door. What you want to avoid is being at the end of the Kidani north wing which would leave you about a mile from the Jambo front entrance (the Kidani building is hugely long).

They might want to put in a request for close to lobby or pool area at Jambo because walk from lobby to room can be very long there also, although nothing as long as Kidani.

Look at this way for walking. If you are at end of south wing of Kidani and they are near lobby at Jambo, you will be about 6 to 7 minutes away from each other walking. If you are at end of north wing of Kidani and they are at end of either Zebra or Kudo trail at Jambo, you will be a 25 minute walk away from each.

It is about a 1/2mile and I find it a pleasant walk/stroll but it also depends on when you are staying. I'm a NYer so walking is part of my life!

If it is in the summer then I would opt for taking the bus over, longer wait (possibly) but cooler!
