AKL & Space Shuttle Launch

I just found out that there is a shuttle launch scheduled for our stay next week on June 8. Is there any where at the AKL to view this? My parents used to get fabulous views from their golf course just south of Orlando.

YES! When we were there in December, we saw a launch at night- it was cool! Just walk outside just beyond the firepit and you can see or go to one of the upper floors that have a balcony at the end of the hall (3rd floor overlooking the pool??) and you can see from there.

In 1999, my then fiancee was in a meeting at the Swan, so I went on the backstage tour by myself. I was right behind Splash Mountain when the shuttle launched, and the whole cast and tour stopped in their tracks to watch. It was truly amazing to see it. I will never foregt it and will show the photos to my grandkids someday!

Just an FYI, I don't know if you will have a rental car or how long you are staying, but the Cape is only about an hour from Disney. It is such a neat place to visit, and you can easily do it in a 1/2 day. You may want to make a trip over to see the launch. I used to work at Cape Canaveral. Such a great place.

Highly highly recommend you make the drive over to Titusville, you won't regret it. Even if it scrubs, make the drive back a second time if you have to. It is well worth it. Read this for a rundown:
