AKL smoking areas

Okay- so if you book a room w/ a savannah view. I understand they are all non-smoking. DH is a smoker and I'm wondering how far in general are the smoking areas from the rooms? He says he doesn't mind but I want to get a feel for it. Thank you.

There are smoking rooms with savannah views, don't worry! Have a WILD time!

Other than that, the only smoking areas are out in front of the hotel, or by the pool. You are NOT allowed to smoke on the balconies.

Although smoking is not allowed on the balconies, when we stayed there, people did it... much to our, and the giraffes' chagrin!
