AKL Question

What is the smell in the lobby? Is it insense? Is it fire? It is a strange smell.

Well, I can't really answer for sure - but during the Travel Channel's spot on the AKL Samantha Brown says the smell is cardamom. This is a spice, not incense. I don't know if they put it in the lobby fireplace, or if they pump it in like in Vegas!! I have also read that the predominant smell of Africa is fire!

BOMA opens up into the lobby so I suspect it is a cooking smell.

We believe it is coming from the firepit in the lobby. We like it as we think it smells like a fireplace.
