You'll notice the difference in location of WL versus AKL, and you'll appreciate the closeness to MK given your schedule. I still remember the first time we took the boat from WL to MK and how surprised I was when we saw how close the MK really is!

I don't think you'll regret trying something new, and maybe it will even open the doors for you to try even more resorts!
