….the other alternative is to leave late Wednesday evening (11/5) and return Sunday (11/9)….

Perfect, where can I find pics of this villa? I have been searching and can't find much.

That's a really good question! I just looked back through my photobucket albums and I couldn't find any photos of a Jambo 1-bedroom villa. :confused3 I don't often take photos of the rooms -- if you saw how often I go to WDW you'd understand why! :rotfl:

There is a photo thread in the Resorts forum - perhaps someone posted villa photos there. Otherwise...........

does anyone have photos of the Jambo 1-bedroom standard view villa they can post here?! :)

I have a 1 bedroom value villa. . . anyone know the views there or the location within Jambo?:confused3 I truly am just ecstatic to be staying at AKL:cheer2: As someone had said a while back in this thread, I would take the basement. That jet-tub just looks so relaxing aaahhhhh:goodvibes

You truly are going to love this place....It's like no other resort that you'll stay at.:thumbsup2 Trust that...From the restaurants to the decor, to the awesome pools, to the animals, & finally to the peacefulness you'll experience here...Have a great time.:goodvibes

…..sooooo, a little while ago, we finally hashed out the tentative dates….it was kind of my fault for telling DH that the dates were 10/29 to 11/3, but I said it was Thursday to Monday. When I realized my mistake, he realized that he couldn't really stay away from the business that long, and with our furbaby's medical dilemma, it's just easier to go from 10/29 to 11/3. Plus, with the previous dates, I'd actually have to take all four of my personal days, which I don't really want to do. I'll just think of it as an EXTRA-LONG weekend….;) :teeth:

As long as you are still going, it's great!:cool1:

I thought I saw somewhere that AKL did switch over to the triple sheeting layout versus comforter. Can anyone confirm? :goodvibes

Question for those who know:

We have a 2-bedroom Villa in Kidani booked for October. Is there a certain section where the 2-bedrooms are located? Are there certain requests I should make to be in the best possible location for the 2-bedrooms?

Thanks!

Hello, I am getting very excited for our May trip!

I put in a room request (we have reserved Arusha Savannah, 2 queens), but I saw that someone said that the 3rd (lobby) floor is noisier than other floors due to foot traffic. Is that true? Would people recommend 2nd or 4th floor instead? Of course, priority is animal viewing, but noise at all hours of the night will be annoying as well.

(We have two sons ages 8 & 10 and will be trying to get enough sleep so as not to be cranky when I make them get up early for rope drop  )

I was trying to get a sense of the views here:

(very cool room-finding tool)

Thanks!

I doubt it, but I will ask. . . some hotels sell the bed spread, lamps, curtains, bathroom accessories, etc. . . I was looking at the see-through curtains/drapes at AKL in one of the videos, I really like them with the Lion King woven into them. Just wondering if they had these for sale or other house hold items?:confused3

Ownthemagic.com sells any items leftover from a refurb, and at one time they did have bedspreads & curtains from AKL for sale!

You can't see animals from Boma; are you thinking of Sanaa? Or do you mean that you want to walk around AKL and see animals before or after your Boma reservations? If so, I'd only worry about scheduling it so that you have daylight hours for animal viewing. It's not like you'll be there at the hottest part of the day so the animals should be plenty active as you get into the evening hours.

that must be what I am thinking of…we have three kids under 7, which is better for dinner for them, SANAA or BOMA??

thanks

Well, Boma, at Jambo, is a buffet so you'll have more variety to pick and choose from if any of your kids are picky eaters. They also have a kids section on the buffet with all the standard american fare. Sanaa is an Indian-inspired sit-down at Kidani, but I find it to be pretty tame as far as Indian food goes, so even picky eaters should be able to find something "safe". I believe they have a kids menu as well. Sanaa is nice in that you can see animals while you eat (assuming you go while it's still light outside and get a decent table). Sanaa is also open for lunch. Taking a look at the menus online should help you get an idea of which restaurant appeals to you more. Online Boma menus will only give you an idea of what types of foods they offer, as some of the offerings rotate daily. Sanaa has a set menu (although it does change from time to time, so no one dish is guaranteed to be there when you go, but it's pretty accurate).
