Agreed! We can take the Auto Train for under $800 and have our car with us if we want to use it. We usually don't usally drive, but with my husband's disabilities it is easier to use a town car service than ME. That is another $150 or so. Auto Train is looking better and better!

I hear you.. We've only done the drive twice..Kids were a lot younger, but me being the main driver and not as much vacation time then, I would rush to get down there in 1 fell swoop.

I'd leave directly after working, ( usually 4:00 ) so that I get past D.C. after all the rush hour traffic is cleared. We drive straight through the night w/ a couple of stops here n there, & arrive in WDW just around noon next day....

We've looked into the auto train, but it never made sense in terms of the pricing for us...Unless its $4 to 500 cheaper, I'd just assume drive....I'm willing to pay about $350 for a plane ticket p/p but $404...Aghh NO.

I think next summer we'll be driving down ( plans permitting ). Gonna try an do a 2 week thingee...1st 2 nights at Vero, then 8 or 9 at AKV, then 2 more nights up at HH, the drive to WasH. D.C. and do like 3 nights before heading home....It'll obviously be during summer so the kids will have the time..

I like the idea of the train ,because I can nap, but I'll need the car to go from place to place....Even w/ the car down in WDW, we don't ever use it...I don't want to drive while on vacation....

I'm crossing my fingers hoping that the info you got w/ Jet Blue is wrong...I don't think I can wait till May...

If you do decide to drive next summer, plan a stop in Fredericksburg. We are south of DC and just about the time you get out of that horrible traffic (although we do have our share of it on the weekends!). There is so much history in our area it would be a perfect spot for a portion of a summer vacation!

I keep hoping the info I got from JetBlue about when their next dates are released is wrong too! But on their website and on their facebook page they specifically say dates are released 6-8 months in advance. So, if they come out before May they look good to their public, yes??

I'm sorry to say that we had to cancel our RCI Exchange into 1 Bedroom Kidani Savanna View in January. I am however, happy to report that we are now booked at the Animal Kingdom Lodge in a Pool View Room. So excited to be going back. We absolutely loved the 2 nights we spent at AKV Jambo studio last May and we must must must get back to this amazing resort.

Ok guys, need some help please!

My mom passed away last week, and my sister, 12 yr old niece and I will be celebrating her life with 4 days at AKL from May 14-18.

We typically do commando park time and stay offsite, but with this special occasion, we want to relax and enjoy each others company since we live on separate coasts!!

We will do one day at DHS since that is our favorite park, but the other days will be finding something new to do!

My question is, would it be worth doing the club level since we will be at the hotel more now.... if we were doing commando park, I would say no, but was just wondering if whatever it offers, and not really sure of all those perks just yet, lol but what do you guys think?

Wolfie68: I totally agree with psac's advice! The only clarification I want to make is that the Sunrise Safari would require a park day at AK (not AKL ) It's a wonderful (early morning) experience that is only available to AKL-CL guests! It's only offered Thursdays and Sundays.
