Sure! When we were there in Sept from what I remember they had two hot apps per night along with a cold app or two, and a selection of really good cheeses (the Manchego was TDF) and crackers, veggies, and dips (i.e. hummus, olive spread, etc.). I thought the hot apps were good. One night I remember some kind of shrimp spoon, another was a spiced turkey meatball with roasted peppers, another was tofu with almonds and spicy mustard, another was a really yummy mushroom thing on a crostini. I wish I could explain them better, but I don't remember the specifics. I just remember them being small but very pretty (tasty sauces drizzled over them). Not enough for a meal but, along with a glass of wine, a nice starter to your real meal.

Breakfasts were functional but pretty boring after 9 days (oatmeal, quinoa, cereals, breads, pastries, fruit (loved the fresh nectarines!), etc.).

The mid-afternoons breaks were so-so. Veggies, cheeses, munchies, and then a cute area for the kids with PB&J sandwiches, gummy bears, goldfish.

The late night dessert offerings were yummy. Cordials, and I think two desserts per night (i.e. zebra domes, brownies, mousse, etc.).

And the view of the lobby can't be beat! Overall, we have really enjoyed the CL experience at AKL each time we have done it.

Thanks! I have actually seen those videos but they don't give descriptions. I guess I am just worried about the hot apps not being to DH liking....he doesn't like anything too "exotic"

We have stayed club at WL and YC and loved WL and YC was okay.

There were African wines when we were there in Sept both at dinner time and dessert from what I remember. I know they had African reds...not sure about African whites.

We have stayed club at WL and YC and loved WL and YC was okay.

My wife doesn't really like anything too exotic, so there were some things she didn't try (I was the taste tester), but each night there was at least one thing of the two that she did like.

What she didn't like in the apps was made up for at breakfast. The mini-muffins must have been laced with crack.

Did a lot of research on when the decorations came out at AKL last year and the furthest out was Nov 17. Can't wait to see the holiday decor....already missing mine at home.

Leaving Wed for my (traitorous) visit to the YC. Can't believe they never released or made good offers on AKL for the race. :-(.

Love the AKL, but with the new round of discounts we have made a change of plans. We will be staying at the Contemporary Resort CL and on the DxDP this upcoming June instead. I'm now thinking we will stay at the AKL for our planned trip next Jan/Feb.

Hahaha! Apparently they are magical videos? Now I'm going to have to show them to my DH too! Another CL trip in October 2014 would be perfect, lol.

It's a 1/2 marathon in November. I believe it is run at night, not early morning like most Run Disney Events.

So, I have been hanging onto our GF reservation for quite some time, with the contemplation of doing AKL instead....but GF is winning out this time...you can remove me from the August list.

We'll get to AKL someday.
