5 day countdown!!! :dance3:

Just got a reminder email from Disney to "Bring your Magicbands!".... Oh don't worry, they've been packed for WEEKS! So excited, time to go home....

Here's hoping DH likes it as much as the kids and I do. His first trip, think it will amaze him!

Hi,
My extended family is looking to stay at AKL early next year. My sister has a weird fear of stuffed animals/taxidermy. Can anyone tell me if there are any such things in any of the common areas or lobby of AKL? I looked at a number of pictures and didn't see any, but figured I should ask to be sure. If we get there and she sees one, she will literally not walk through the hotel.

TIA!

This is our favorite resort and I would not worry. That goes against the whole thought of Animal Kingdom. You're not going to see anything like that at AKL. But what you WILL see are beautiful giraffes running wild in the savannah. You're going to be in so much awe!!! :)

53 days for us!!!
I did online check-in but did not put any requests. We have a standard view so maybe we'll be surprised.

I checked with the outdoor rec. center on base today about ordering military discount tickets. I was told they have to wait till the current promotion is over before they can order for the new one. So hopefully the last week in Sept./first week in Oct. I can order them! Then we'll see if they can be linked to magic bands...

Sounds amazing! I had the same thought about it going against AK, but I would have said the same about out local zoo and they have a taxidermy white tiger for some reason... Thanks for replying!

We are 2 weeks away from arriving at Kidani!:cool1:

It is a surprise birthday trip for my daughter and she still doesn't know! It is killing me to not openly talk about the trip;)

Omg how do you stop yourself it must be on the tip of your tongue! How you going to break the happy news?

It is hard, I have nearly had a couple of slip ups.

She is having a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory birthday party the weekend before we go. I wrapped up a stuffed Oompa Loopma holding a golden ticket with the trip information. We will give it to her then, that way she will have a couple days to plan still. We arrive at WDW on her actual birthday.

What a wonderful way of surprising her! My son is only five, so I'm not sure how to surprise him. His old sisters know already. I was thinking of a scavenger hunt of some sort. Fortunately, I have plenty of time to plan (although I suspect the next four months will go by fast).

We did that same thing in July..we had room 5775..Zebra Trail ALLLLLL the way at the end. I suggest requesting "close to lobby" if you can

Here was our view.

AKL doesn't accept faxes -- they haven't for several years now. Your best bet is to call and have the CM note your requests; or you can make them during online check-in (best to make the requests over the phone ;))

Hi folks! :goodvibes

I have been scrolling through pages and pages of AKL and Kidani threads hoping to find one of the maps that shows the room categories and room types for each floor. I have used them in the past for other DVC properties but despite hours of reading and scrolling, I am coming up with nothing. :confused3

Can someone please tell me if such a map exists for Kidani? Here's an example of what I am looking for http://www.parkinfo2go.com/dvc-akv/floor5.php

I would really appreciate some help! Thank you so much in advance! :flower3:

Apologies if this question has been asked before. We are booking AKL for the first time and have noticed that Arusha View bunk beds is slightly more expensive than Savannah View bunk beds, why is this, and is it worth it?
TIAx

Arusha view is the center horseshoe rooms.. More animal viewing..so more expensive.
A savannah view could be an outside room.. Still see animals, but not with the certainty of Arusha
(That photo I took above is Arusha view)

Thanks for that:thumbsup2 One more question please, as we are arriving from the UK we will be up really early the next morning,is there anything we can do like safaris, animal interations etc early saturday morning? We wont have a park ticket at that point because we're only at AKL for one night before moving to the YC. Thank you.
