AKL LITE II - We're #2, but we try harder....

I have three questions for the AKL experts/lovers here

First off, we arrive at the AKL in 13 days and would love to ship water down. We don't belong to Costco, so is Staples still a good option for this? How/when should we order the case of water, and what address should we use?

...I find that Walmart has good deals on water if we don't buy it at Costco...

Second, we know that the weather will be hot and rainy, but we're still on the fence about a rental car. We have arranged DME and a rental, but we aren't sure which one to pick. We will only be there for four days. Will the heat, rain, and crowds be a lot to handle, or can we make do with Disney transportation withour too much discomfort? Anyone been there recently and used the buses that will share their transportation experiences?

...personally, with a 4-day stay, I wouldn't waste my time with a car rental, but that's just my preference - the WDW transportation works fine...

Lastly, it will be just DH an I on our 20th anniversary trip, but we wound up in bunk room, pool view. Our TA did note a request a room without bunks, if possible. Should we bother to request a certain pool-view room location, or is that just asking too much? We just really tried to avoid a parking lot view when we originally booked.

I know!! We originally booked a standard, then called our TA to see if we could upgrade to pool-view to avoid a parking lot-view She did just that...but it was for a bunk room! Then she said that we could not switch it becasue they were sold out. At this point, I'm a little afraid to have her do anything more to the ressie!

...did she request a 'King' room??? Well, there IS a queen bed in a bunk room, but I can't see the point of paying extra for something that you don't need - since it's only 4 days, how much more would it be to request a savannah-view room?

...also, if you are a little concerned about your TA messing up your ressies, wait until you check in to request a NONbunk room...or, you could call AKL directly....

One thing about Disney transportation: when you get on the bus, it will already be cool, in your car which had been parked in the sun all day it will be hot!

I would just keep the request as it is. I think that any pool view location will be a good one. Even on Giraffe trail, you have an exit down on the pool level and can just cut across to Mara. I even read about a direct exit from the Giraffe trail to the buses.

I hope you will get a non bunk bed room!! I think most people don't want to pay the extra so these rooms are always left over... But I think if you ask to be "downgraded" they would do it and just upgrade someone else, like a family, who would love the bunk beds!

....the 'quick' way to get from a Giraffe Trail room to the buses would be to 'short-cut' through the Zawadi gift shop...

You just quote the entire text, and then delete what you don't want!

when you quote you get the editor window with the text starting with [QUOTE...] and ending with another [/ QUOTE] inbetween is text. You can edit that text: delete parts of it, add your own comments in a different colour...

Good question, Elin! I never tried getting back in!! I prefer to make my entrance through the lobby doors!!
