Sorry if this sounds stupid, but can someone just give me a brief overview of the new AKL Villas. We are staying at the regular AKL, but can we still have access to the things at Kidani and Jambo?

Like I said, I'm a newbie to AKL, and am hoping to learn some stuff, but not too much, I want to be surprised!

Thanks!:worship:

...Northern NJ?? What exit? [ ;) ]

From one Nittany Lion to another....yes, you would have access to things at Kidani, which would be basically the pool. But it's a bit of a walk -- .35 miles from main entrance to main entrance, according to someone who walked it with a GPS.

Here's a thread where someone put together a really nice video from when Kidani first opened a few weeks ago.

Gotta love them lions! Glennbo123....thanks for the link, I'll have to watch it when I get home. My work computer denies access

Have a wonderful trip!! I am glad you came out of lurkdom on this thread! It's not only about answering questions as you may have noticed!! :rolleyes1 But lots of friendly chatter!

Torsie, Mara is actually next to the pool, it has a cute outside seating area:

I made this my desktop background, and every time I see it I think 'in 21 more days that chair is going to have an imprint of my butt in it'. I work from 8p-8a, so 5 o'clock in the morning is like middle of the afternoon to me. I'm always roaming around while everyone else is still sleeping. This looks like the perfect place for me to read the paper while the rest of the World wakes up.

Mara doesn't sell the good coffee, but as of January, at least, Zawadi sold the ground Kenya, both regular and decaf. That's always my first stop!

Oh thanks LindaBabe-always looking for good coffee information...:surfweb:

I have a cousin and a close friend who went to Penn State-everyone who's lived in PA has a Penn State connection...I think its a requirement for State Residency of any length...

Sadly, I don't have one :confused3, sometimes I wish I did though! :goodvibes

Don't feel bad nittanyliongirl02...you can't help it if you lived in Pa and are used to scenic pastoral Pennsylvania roads instead of those NJ Exits...:rolleyes1

...:snooty: if you were a TRUE 'NJ girl' you'd have answered THAT in a HEARTBEAT....

Everyone has an exit in NJ, lol j/k

Actually, I grew up right outside of NYC and have been a Jersey girl for 29 years now. If I had to pick an exit, I would pick 4C from Rt.80. Otherwise, I live too far north of any major roads to say I have an exit from the Parkway or NJ-Turnpike. So technically when I get asked what exit, I'll usually just :snooty:

and then there are the "roundabouts" or left hand turns!:scared:

My family will be June 14-21. What is the best way for me to make a room request? Do I call the hotel directly? Does anyone have the front desk telephone number?

Thanks for your help!

I was typing too fast! We will be staying at AKL for the first time June 14-21. I've booked a standard room, but I want to request a room as close to the Mara and Lobby as possible. Although it is supposed to be noted on the reservation, should I also fax or phone in my request?

I just call CRO and ask them to note it on our reservation. I've heard that they don't pay attention to the faxes and there's no way to call the hotel directly to ask for a room request. When CRO has noted it on our reservation, at check-in the CM always notices that it's there.:confused3
