Well, I was busy celebrating my birthday yesterday

HI everyone!

I'm new to this thread... we're in the process of buying DVC at AKV and brookelizabeth tipped me off to all of you here! We've yet to step foot on AKV property (just a brief drive through when we took the wrong turn going back to our off-site house in a 2007 trip!), but reading/seeing pictures here only gets me extra excited for our first trip home!

I'm there with ya, Elin! But I look at it this way: in 26 years of marriage, my DH hasn't been inspired to plan a *celebration* - why should he change now?!! Besides, he probably knows I would be very suspicious of what he'd done that he felt he needed to "make nice" over!

I 100% agree with you RachelTori After 17 years if DH did something like that I'd wonder what he'd done that he knew he'd be in trouble for!

Nooooo!!! (I'm a closet Hannah Montana fan. I'm not exactly in her demographic though, lol!)

Alright - I'll admit to it too. I love the show and even tivo the new episodes so I don't miss them. When we were in one of the stores at the CR this past Sept, we heard one of her songs and I just started singing along...DH just looked at me and couldn't believe I knew the words.

Evening everyone! 2 more sleeps and I will be back at WDW! Yes, I am getting very spoiled! 2 trips in less than a month. Of course I won't be so spoiled when the credit card bills come in!

Alright - I'll admit to it too. I love the show and even tivo the new episodes so I don't miss them. When we were in one of the stores at the CR this past Sept, we heard one of her songs and I just started singing along...DH just looked at me and couldn't believe I knew the words.

I learned all the words too after a weeklong trip with a group of junior high girls - we had 2 CDs with, one a mix I made, and the other Hannah Montana. On our drive from Denver to the southern part of the state and back to Denver, that's all we listened to. Over. And Over. And Over. When we returned the van at the airport before flying home, it accidentally got left in the van's CD player. Honest. It was an accident. Probably subconsciously on purpose. The funny thing? The girl didn't mind, because she had another copy with her to listen to on the plane ride home!!

Wow, we are really booked for our WDW vacation and decided to splurge on the Poly!!

Now I have to get started with the planning process...

It's not showing on yours? Weird. I can see it on my computer. Although now that I think of it, DH mentioned tonight that it he could see the bottom of someone else's siggie on our laptop, but not on our desktop. Hmmmmm.....

Yup, we're looking at August 19-26th if everything works out. Feels good to have a date in mind although 8 months 2weeks and 4 days seems awfully far away right now!! Need a stow away on your trip??????

HM, and the Dora balloon were the "highlights" of the parade for our kids. I had to tell my oldest daughter that, even though form the first commercial break they kept pushing that Miley was "next" and "soon" that she'd likely be a ways back in the parade. As it was, she wasn't TOO far into it on the BOLT float. I half expected her to be right before Santa!



MAN is it hard to get any work done today.......I keep "Disney Dreamin"

Brookelizabeth, we will be arriving on January 23, leaving again one week later (making the best use of the 7 for 4 offer). Is that the same time frame you will be down there? It would be fun to say hi in person!

So, we're all packed (well, except for the day to day neccessities like glasses, contact lenses, razors..you know, the last minute stuff). We finished up last night. Tonight we pack the car (fun, fun!!).

Yesterday, my wife went out and fueled up the van. Grand total for the fill-up, which was close to 20 gallons.....38 cents. Yup, you read that right....38 cents.

Our grocery store (Price Chopper) offers, for every certain amount you spend, a per gallon discount (which accumulates) at a local gas station. We'd been "saving up" the discount for just this purpose. They can't give it to you "free"..they have to charge something like 1.9 cents per gallon...but our discount basically brought the cost down as low as legally possible.

I'm hoping to, once again, post "live" updates from the road. Hopefully, THIS time, AKV's internet connection cooperates with our laptop. If everything works out, I should have some Holiday pics from AKV to post by the end of the weekend. I'll also start a "live trip report" thread over in the trippies section and I'll put a link in this thread for everyone. THERE I hope to post pics and maybe some links to some youtube vids of the festivites (like the Osborne Lights, etc) over the course of our trip.

I'm hoping to, once again, post "live" updates from the road. Hopefully, THIS time, AKV's internet connection cooperates with our laptop. If everything works out, I should have some Holiday pics from AKV to post by the end of the weekend. I'll also start a "live trip report" thread over in the trippies section and I'll put a link in this thread for everyone. THERE I hope to post pics and maybe some links to some youtube vids of the festivites (like the Osborne Lights, etc) over the course of our trip.

Slightly OT but...

I just "found out", here on the disboards, that there is a chance (not sure how GOOD of a chance) we may run into some X-mas magic this trip.

We're heading to the MK for our first full day on the 5th. They're taping part of the X-mas day parade for ABC that day (the performances)....though we were not planning on paying much attention to it, and trying to deal with the increased crowds as best we could.

However, it looks like Miley Cyrus will be filming a segment. Oldest DD is a HUGE HM fan. It might be a long shot (they start filming prior to the park opening, and it wouldn't surprise me if they film her segment at that point), but there's at least a shot that DD..from a fair distance away....might get to see Miley. That would blow her mind.....
