Happy thanksgiving!

I just got home from the Ikea (Boscovs) Thanksgiving parade in Philly. I saw mickey, minnie, donald daisy, tink (she is super small), and the princesses. It definately pumped me up for my trip in 6 days!

That's great!!!! We don't have our own parade, so I sort of watched Macy's from NY -- but I was cooking at the time and didn't really see too much. I would have loved to have seen Mickey and friends!!! Have a great trip! I'm right behind you -- we are down to 21 days!

HI everyone!

I'm new to this thread... we're in the process of buying DVC at AKV and brookelizabeth tipped me off to all of you here! We've yet to step foot on AKV property (just a brief drive through when we took the wrong turn going back to our off-site house in a 2007 trip!), but reading/seeing pictures here only gets me extra excited for our first trip home!

HM, and the Dora balloon were the "highlights" of the parade for our kids. I had to tell my oldest daughter that, even though form the first commercial break they kept pushing that Miley was "next" and "soon" that she'd likely be a ways back in the parade. As it was, she wasn't TOO far into it on the BOLT float. I half expected her to be right before Santa!

Welcome thewesterberg! AKL (or AKV for you) is such an amazing place to be in in person. Before our first stay I kept looking at pictures trying to get a feel for the place, but it is so much more amazing when you actually stand in that great lobby!

Wow, we are really booked for our WDW vacation and decided to splurge on the Poly!!

It is the one resort that I really wanted to stay at when I first learned about the existence of WDW in the mid-nineties. I found a little program for the computer which seemed to have been a kind of planning-dvd (anyone else ever seen that?). I absolutely adored the pictures of the Poly. Well, once I booked my first trip and realized how pricey it was I really thought twice about staying there. So it's great to finally get to stay there!

But I have to point out that AKL will always stay my favorite resort and we would have stayed there if would have been able to get a room without bunk beds...

Now I have to get started with the planning process...
