You beat me to it . . .

I was going through my receipts from WDW. There is a bartender at Uzima Springs Pool bar named Laura W. I'm assuming that she has probably been at the AKL for quite a while. When I asked for a "Nahtazu," she knew how to make it.![]()
...I love your castle siggie pic....
Thanks to you too, kimmar. I took that last month!
I think both your countdown pictures are really fantastic! And you have two countdowns on at the same time. While mine is nearly down to onw week (single digits tomorrow) I already being a bit depressed that I don't know when I will be there next. Perhaps I need to start planning a trip to DL Paris again...

Wendypooh and I tried to pass each other in the hall for a number of days last February and even left each other messages, but it did not work out!!![]()
Well, I thank you for the compliments on my photos too, Magdalene! I definitely think that everyone ought to have "something" planned with a ticker, even if it is 2 years off or at DL Paris! After all, we are all planners and dreamers on here and I can think of nothing better than having a countdown to look at every time we post!![]()
All this planning for meals for the next trip finally got me to do my dining review for January 2008.
Hey, I was thinking, too, of your staying at the Poly. So embarrassing, all I know are the good bartenders! Gawd![]()

The pool bar at the Poly...say hi to Jaime and Tim. They're great. At the bar upstairs near O'Hana...Walter is the best. He's been with WDW since the beginning of time! (don't tell him I said that, he'll kill me!)
Kona Cafe is a favorite of ours when we want to eat something on the run and casual. Ben loves the desserts. The food is very good there. I don't know if you have tried it, but put it on your list if you can fit it in. IMHO, better food than O'Hana. Although Ben loves the entertainment at O'Hana.
BUT - when you get back from the Poly I want DETAILS!!!!! I can hardly wait to go........ this is going to be the LONGEST year.........................
...AND, I couldn't agree with you more on your philosophy!!! I personally am an OCD planner........... I get that from Kim!!!! LOL....
I know----------- I was SO sad not to get to actually meet Floss!!!! We tried.......... we left messages on our room phones, but we just weren't able to meet up ..![]()
Maybe next time!!!!![]()

...I take that as a compliment...
I will bring back lots of pictures of the Poly, I promise (but won't post them here of course, for here I will take pictures when we eat at Boma!!) Anything you are especially interested in?
Anyway --------- back to AKL stuff!!!!
I got an email today in regards to DVC - we were going to buy into it last year............... but we didn't. We still want too - trying to convince ourselves that it's "really" worth the money....................anyway, I got an email today that IF we buy in before the 19th (I think) then we'd get all kinds of goodies, a FREE 5 day vaca and some other stuff................. SOOOOOOOOO - I think DH and I will have to do some serious talking in the next few days!!! So, did anyone else get that email??? I need to go read it again............ to get all the details straight.

UPDATE - ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE
Chef Brian Piasecki has left Animal Kingdom's Jiko and is now the new Chef de Cuisine at the California Grill. Chef Brian started with Walt Disney World more than 18 years ago with the Disney Culinary Apprenticeship program. He then proceeded to round out his experience at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resort, the Grand Floridian, the All-Star Sports Resort, the Boardwalk and Epcot's Coral Reef restaurant. Later, as a Chef de Cuisine, Brian lead the culinary teams at Epcot's Le Cellier and Rose and Crown complex. Most recently, as Chef de Cuisine at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Brian worked extensively on the opening operational aspects for the upcoming Disney Vacation Club Kidani Village project.
I saw that (and read Ben's Mom's info about it) and wondered if the changeover happened before Christmas? Might explain why so many of us had some bad experiences there last month!
