AKL-JH locations - standard studio

Hi all,

We've rented points for a standard view studio in AKL-Jambo, checking in about a month from now.

I'm not picky about view and am inclined to not make any requests. Already happy that we'll be on the 5th floor But I'm wondering if there's a specific location that folks agree is very quiet (away from elevators?) and gets good sunlight.

We really don't mind long walks, and I've thought about requesting as far down as possible on Kudu trail. At the same time, we love to swim and will use the fitness center at least 3-4 times, so maybe as far down as possible on the Zebra trail would be best? I guess "quiet" is my main wish, and it seems Kudu would be quieter for being away from most of the restaurants and the pool.

Probably overthinking it, but if we do want to make a request, I'd like to pass that along to the DVC member soon so they can email or call. If only there was a "we don't mind walking / not right next to the elevator" selection in online checkin.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Your favorite trail/savannah?

Also: I have seen on TouringPlans that all of the standard studios look to be around the middle/close-to-lobby of each trail, so I understand "as far down as possible" might not be very far at all. And that TP might not be totally accurate w/r/t noise level, views, etc.

There’s elevators at multiple locations along the hallways, so close to an elevator can still be a long walk to the lobby.

It used to be that all DVC standard views were pool view, but they have now also added a large number of partial savanna view rooms. Kudu would guarantee a partial savanna, but there are some partial savanna rooms farther down Zebra.

If the member makes a request for you, don't make any requests via online checkin. They will be overridden by the online checkin request.
