We're heading "home" for the first time this upcoming April. We have a savannah view booked. Should I put a room request in for a specific location? If so, where? Also, how can I get an officially updated list of the free daily activities available?

Thanks for your help!

There is a great thread on the resorts discussion board, just on AKL. Lots of pictures, ideas, trip reports. Great info, check it out.

the animals move around.

I would ask for a SV room in a section that has shade.

most of the animals most of the time were definitely in the shade areas for my visit.

this place is beautiful!!!

the AKV are so much better than the AKL rooms - there is just no comparision.

You will love it.

Pat - I was just looking at the AKV room pics yesterday - they look absolutely amazing. Did you stay there yet? Is it easy to get at 7 months or does it depend on unit size?

yes - stayed there in Sept.

since this board make me aware of it - it was easy.

heard it is not so easy now.

but shortly some more units will go into MS. So watch out for those - or go get on the waiting list. (December)

hey you might be lucky and not have to go to any waiting list at all.

I had a studio and it was lovely! the views outside were not great. It was standard view. So roof and pool view - mostly roof.

that say it was really, really close to the stairwell - so getting to the lobby was easy. Just down the steps. the lobby is on the 3rd floor - so the 5th floor is not that far up. the steps aren't hard to climb either. Out lobby (or gift store) to the bus stop. (try to find a short cut - but if there is another way I didn't find it)

really close (last room) to the laundry room. So yes I loved my room. oh the TV's are the best.:woohoo:  :cheer2:

Personally, we never request specifics about the room. Why? Because we try to get there early and take what is available. In ten years we have only had to wait for a room twice. And one of the times was when we specified a Boardwalk view at BWV. And to be honest we have only been disappointed in a room once. The problem was that we checked in around 10:00 pm. The room we got was supposedly a pv room at BWV. But it over looked the old DVC offices before they tore them down. So our view was the back of a building. Every other time we have had great rooms. This last trip we got a fabulous room at BCV. It was right next to the elevators and had a fabulous view of Illuminations. But we didn't request a thing.
