AKL...Good Choice??

After many hours on the internet I have finally booked 4 nights at the AKL for January.

Have I made the right choice??
We are staying on I Drive for 10 nights but I wanted to experience the magic!

Our family thinks it is a GREAT choice!! We stayed in Dec 2003 for the first time, we are going back in July and hopefully again in Dec 2004! We raved about it so much that our family is planning a Magical Gathering and staying there with us.

The castmembers were wonderful, the food offerings (from Mara to Boma) were very good, the pool was a large enough to never feel busy, the rooms were comfortable and clean, the resort store was amazing, oh, and lest I forget THE ANIMALS!!! We loved the early mornings and late evenings sitting on the balcony just watching the interactions. The CMs were so wonderful in sharing information, night vision goggles, and answering questions. The firepit outside with a storyteller, the firepit inside to relax by, the activities for the kids....I could go on and on!!

I've read complaints about it being so far "out", but we loved the remoteness - we really felt we were in another place. We never had trouble with the buses - in fact we loved the bus stops at the various parks since they were very convenient to the park exit, we didn't have to make any stops to pick up or drop off others and the ride itself was never too long in our opinion.

I can't imagine a disappointing stay at AKL! Just ask if you have any specific questions!

Wonderful choice! Wannabe princess is right on the money. This resort is totally awesome. My family couldn't find a thing to complain about. The food choices are terrific, the pool is gorgeous, and I can't rave enough about the bus service and I hate the busses. LoL We had standard view rooms last May and we'd stay in them again if that were the only way to stay at AKL. We are counting the days until we return. Have a super time!

AKL is our fav...we are leaving soon. I've talked about it sooo much that one of my good friends just returned from there and his family now loves it! And 2 other friends are trying it this summer!

Last year, AKL dethroned our long-time favorite, the Poly!!! AKL is a fabulous resort, we absolutely love it, and we don't mind that it is a little further out than some - the buses are dedicated to AKL, no stops at other resorts, and that's a big plus!! We feel our stress just melt away as soon as we enter this gorgeous, exotic resort!

Can't top wannabee princess for superlatives, I'll just second everything she said!

Just back from second trip to AKL. You will love it !

We rode the resort buses for the first time in years (we usually drive all over) and it worked out just fine.

Unfortunately, you may find yourself compelled to stay onsite forever

Mom & I just came back from AKL. It was our 1st time & we will be going again. We loved watching the animals from the 3 savannahs & from our room (we had an savannah view)!! Have fun!!!

First time we tried AKL, after it first opened in 2001, we went 3 times that year!!!!

The place is awesome!
Even though we love to stay at other resorts and we love them,too....
the AKL is the most unique resort with excellent guest services, wonderful food and one of the best concierges on property!

Could go on and on....but, I'll just end up calling CRO tomorrow morning and adding more AKL days to our next trip!
