AKL & CONSTRUCTION-Is it a concern??

I had posted an earlier thread regarding the AKL and our 1st family vacation to WDW in either June/July 2008. I'm wondering how much concern I need to have about construction. We REALLY REALLY wanted AKL to be our choice for our FIRST VISIT. Please help with any feedback. THANKS!

I dont know how it is currently but we stayed here the end of June and we did not notice really anything at all if it wasnt for the disboards i would have never noticed it

The construction inside Jambo House (5th floor only) will be completed this month.

The construction of the new DVC Kidani Village next door will be completed in 2009. You will only see if if you have a room with a view of the Sunset Savanna.

I got back from the AKL on 12/31/07 and didn't notice any construction noise at all while I was there. I was on the Zebra trail with a savannah view room.

You should be fine.

We got back 2 1/2 weeks ago and it was a problem as we had a room on the Sunset Savanna. We had to ask to be moved to another part of the hotel. It sucked to have to repack and then unpack again, but at least we didn't have to worry about the noise at 7am (beep beep from trucks backing up, engine noise from construction trucks and general construction noise clattering and such). It wasn't loud, but it was loud enough that my 3 year old would wake up to. Only the rooms on the side of the construction may experience this as people staying on the other side of the hall that could not see the construction did not notice any noise at all. I guess it will vary on room location so i'd request to stay on the opposite side of the resort if possible. If you have a standard view room, it will not be a problem.
