AKL Confirmation - It says Ded Studio Value Jambo

We just booked a value studio room at AKL for winter 2008. I went online and looked at the confirmation and it says "Ded Studio Value Jambo." Does anyone have any idea where the dedicated value studios are located? I'm assuming Ded stands for dedicated.

If you're familiar with AKL, you know that each "trail" is a series of connected sections with 7-8 rooms usually, on each side of the hallway in each section. When those rooms are converted to villas, a 7-room section becomes 2 2BR lockoffs and 1 dedicated studio and an 8-room section becomes 2 2BR lockoffs and 2 dedicated studios. The dedicated studios are usually on the ends of each section.

Since it is a Value studio, it will be located somewhere along the Giraffe or Ostrich trail, the two short trails along the front of the building.

We'll be in one too, just for 1 night in December. I want to get a feel for just how small it is, to see if possibly a value 2 bedroom could be OK for our family just for a weekend before a longer stay elsewhere. The weekend points for "value" are a bargain, imho.

This drawing shows the Units declared so far. They are all in the Zebra Trail, so none of these are Value villas, but this shows how the conversion of AKL rooms to AKV villas results in (usually) 4 2BR lockoffs and 3 dedicated villas in each section around the horseshoe (the "spurs" off the horseshoe are a little different). I assume when the Value villas are created, they will be done the same way.

For example, look at the section containing Units 39, 40 and 41 -- Units 39 and 40 each contain 2 2BR lockoffs, Unit 41 contains 3 dedicated studios, with 2 on one side of the hallway and 1 on the other side. In the section containing Units 26, 27 and 33, Units 27 and 33 each contain 2 2BR lockoffs each and Unit 26 contains 3 dedicated studios, again with 2 on one side of the hallway and 1 on the other side.

So in general, because most of these hallway sections have 7 or 8 rooms along a side, there will be 2 2BR lockoffs and 1 or 2 dedicated studios on each side of the hallway in each section, and so far anyway, they have been putting the dedicated studios at one end of the section or the other rather than in between the 2 2BR lockoffs.
