Just wondering if the Sunrise Safari is any different than the regular AK Safari. I think it is at least $40 pp for the Safari and breakfast at the Tusker House......it is early in the am too, which I assume means more animals are up before the sun and heat.

Is this worth it, or should DH and I save our $$ and just do our regular Kilaminjaro Safari and Breakfast at our leisure?

Go on the safari - it's worth the $$!!!!! :)

We were just there in June and went on it for the first time. You ride in the same vehicles as the safari ride but it is not the same trip. For one, you get to see a lot of the behind-the-scenes at the Animal Kingdom. We rode in from the back and got to see some of the pens where they keep the animals. Our guide told us a lot of things that you don't hear on the ride.

The safari also goes at its own pace and the driver stops frequently for pictures. Since it's early in the morning the animals are very active and you see a lot of them.

Breakfast at Tusker house is also good.

I know that there are more people on the boards who have been on the safari and they can give their opinion, but I say go for it! :)

How far in advance can you reserve sunrise safari. We're planning to do it on 12/9, and I don't want to miss the reservations!

Thanks-

They say 60 days, but I've made my reservation for it with the concierge before that point.

I've done it twice now, it was wonderful and well worth the money!

Thanks, Anne! Between you and Cass I've gotten so much information!

It's closer to $50/adult and $25/child. Plus it includes the most wonderful breakfast at Tusker House after the safari. The tour guides for the Sunrise Safari are staff at the AKL savannahs, not AK guides. Gives you a little different perspective. It was worth every penny.

Hi there ~ you cannot even compare the regular safari ride to the Sunrise Safari ~ they are like night and day.

Well worth the $50.00 per adult/25.00per child + park admission.

Hope you get a chance to try it ~ there are some photos on my website link below.
