AKL Best Standard View Rooms • Online-Checkin Advise

we're about to Check-in online for our stay next week at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, a Deluxe Studio with a Standard View at the Jumbo House Villas. What rooms, in what area do you recommend? We once had a very nice view of the Uzima pool. Is there anything we can add to our online-check-in to get a nice view/room?

Unless it has been fixed, online check-in has not lately had a place where you make location or other room requests, so you may have to contact Member Services.

If you want a view of the Uzima pool again just request pool view. However, if you want a savanna view room with a standard view reservation, request a room on the Kudo Trail side of the building. All standards on that side are rooms converted to standard from savanna view because views were considered not as good (although they are still pretty good).

I had room 5522 in December and loved it. It's on the Zebra Trail, and this was my view:

I spent a bunch of hours on the balcony just peacefully watching the giraffes walking around and snacking.

I used Touring Plans Room Request feature and requested a room with a partial savanna view. They only had a few of those, all of the others were on the Kudu Trail. I specifically listed all of the ones with views in my request.

It was a decent way down the hallway, but there are elevators at all the "T" junctions, so I could walk down a bit and get an elevator to the first floor and easy access to the pool deck, including the Mara/Boma/Jiko. When I was leaving in the morning, I could take the elevator down to the third floor and just walk along the hallway to the lobby, or elevator down to second floor, step out on the Arusha Savanna overlook for a moment, then walk along to the lobby and just up a flight of stairs to the main level.
