I have reserved Akershus for our last night (a Fri night) in WDW. It's our only Princess meal scheduled, but now I'm wondering if we should do dinner at 1900 instead. The website doesn't say which princesses or characters come to Akershus (or that the schedule rotates?)

I looked up 1900, and there are only 2 reservations left, so I have to make a decision soon! Opinions?

BTW, at the time of travel, I will have an almost 3 year old daughter who is princess obsessed. She loves all of them pretty equally, but I think Ariel and Cinderella fight it out daily for the top spot in her heart.princess:

Food at 1900 was far superior. Aker food wasnt bad but 1900 was a VERY good buffet.

1900 characters were great - but all Cindy centric. Stepmother, Cindy, Prince Charm and 2 step sisters. All very much in character and fun. A good choice if food is your priority and you want access to these characters, but...

If just in it for princess access, go with Aker - Ariel, Cindy, Snow, Belle, Sleeping Beauty all come to your table, sign and spend quality time with you (not rushed like CRT is). Also, when you go in you get two shots (jsut kids and whole fam) with Belle and they give you the pictures free. Service was great.

Like the other posters have said, if you are wanting to see the princesses stay with Akershus. Both times we have been for dinner it has been Belle greeting in the lobby, Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel and Aurora visiting the tables.

I can't say that I enjoyed Akershus for the characters (other than Snow White) or for the food, but if you want to see the princesses - other than CRT it is your best option. :)

If 1900 Park Fare had the princesses, we would choose that over Akershus any day! But that is just us. :)

We did both last year; first time character meals for me.

As far as food, 1990 Park Faire was a much better meal. Akerhaus was okay; the buffet was actually better. We hardly touched our meal and went back to the buffet a second time.

As far as character interaction, 1900 Park Faire was slightly better, especially the stepsisters. And Prince Charming actually make the two girls I traveled with absolutely speechless.

However, at Akerhaus, we got a lot of attention from all the princesses, since we were three single girls by ourselves, "no princes." And I have to say, I almost cried when I got my picture taken with Belle in her ball gown - I would do the whole thing again, just for that.

We were even reminded by Cinderella to be home by midnight - pretty touching.....

We have done both of these. My daughter was about 3 years old for each and she had a far better time at 1900. The food was better and the characters were great and very much in character (I could not get the stepmother to laugh for anything although my daughter did make Anastasia crack at one point). It is also very open there so she could always get a look at one of the characters. She was also quite excited when she got to dance with Prince Charming.

Akerhus - the food was okay at best. It was very tight so taking pictures was difficult. I remember Belle being there as well as Snow White, Alice (from Alice in Wonderland), Ariel and I think Aurora.

I would keep Akershus.:thumbsup2 I've never done dinner there (we've done breakfast) so I don't know how the food is, but you get a picture package with your 1 TS credit.

We did 1900 PF a few years ago and we weren't thrilled. The characters were good, but the tables were on top of each other and the organ was super loud. I couldn't wait to get out.

Another vote for Akershus here. The step-mother and sisters are hilarious, but Akershus has more princesses and, in my opinion, much better food. I've been to Akershus twice (both times in 2008). The first time, we got the photo package with Belle, and Jasmine, Alice, Aurora, and Ariel were going around the tables. The second time, the photo package was with Aurora, and Jasmine, Ariel, Mary Poppins, and Cinderella were walking around. So, the characters can vary, but it's still your best bet for seeing the most princesses in one place. Enjoy your trip!

Food wise, I prefer Akershus for breakfasts and 1900 Park Fare for dinner.

Just adding my 2 cents....

1900PF (night) is more relaxing, fun & better food than Akershaus. The Cindy characters are a complete hoot. There's dancing with the prince and Cindy. And all there is great character interactions from them all!

Akershaus is crowded, CM's are not the best, don't like the food (breakfast, lunch or dinner - tried them all), the princess visits feel very rushed (most times it's been worse than visiting them at Toontown). But you get all the princesses in one place.

But even with everything, if we can only do one, my dd always chooses Akershaus. She could care less about the food, the service or the crowds, she just wants to see the princesses.

We saw Jane from Tarzan, Ariel, Cinderella, Belle, Jasmine. Food was good but my family is not adventurous at eating. We loved 1900 food was great good variety saw Cinderella, Prince, Evil mom and sisters they were hilarious.

Such an assortment of experiences! Thanks for the responses.

What if I added that my son will be 5 during this trip (hence only 1 princess meal) and that I'd like to do the Pirates and Pals cruise after this particular dinner. So that's at 8:15 out of the contemporary. Is it going to be that much easier to travel there from GF than Epcot? Would my son enjoy one meal over another?

First, yes it's easier to get the CR from the GF. Not that it's hard from Epcot, but it's a decent hike from Akershus to the monorail, then you'd have to transfer at the TTC and ride all the way around to the CR. I'd allow at least an hour from Akershus and probably 30 mintes or less from 1900.

Second, I have three boys (3, 5, and 6 last trip) and I "make" them do ALL the princess stuff :lmao: They were less than thrilled with Akershus but LOVED 1900.

Drizella asked my 5 yo to marry her and made him take a separate engagement photo with her new fiancee :rotfl2:. His little face is bright red in the pic, but he still talks about it all the time. My boys were all wearing red that day and Cindy made a fuss about how Prince Charming's fave color was red too. I thought the dance with Cindy and the Prince was a very girly moment, so I can see it being something a little princess would love too

Akershus felt very assembly line. Cookie cutter and rushed, IYKWIM? Sign the book, snap the photo, MOVE ON!

PS. I hated the food at Akershus. Ick! 1900 was pretty standard buffet and passable. Although I gotta say, the food was not my main reason for either visit so take that with a grain of salt :goodvibes
