On my next Disneyworld vacation I'm taking along my 6 year old niece. She loves princesses and I was wondering what Princess meal is best. We only have time to do one of them on our trip.

Very tough to pick, IMO...my family did both on my DD's 13th b-day this summer...CRT breakfast, Akershus for dinner. Both were great.

**I just asked DD & she replied, "Norway for dinner". I think it's because she totally fell in love with our waiter Chris...he was a cutie!!!

I chose Arkshus in Norway. We also have eaten at both places (breakfast at both) and both were very good. But the princesses at Norway were great! Alot of people love to go to the castle (which is a great reason to go there!) but like pp, after given the choice, both my DD's said they wanted to have breakfast in EPCOT again.

Whichever you choose, have a great time!:)

We've only done Akershus and while the princesses were lovely, we had HORRIBLE meals and ho-hum service. We had a great time and all agreed it was worth it but dd has said she would rather go to CRT next time. I think a lot of kids get frustrated when they realize they can't actually go inside the castle unless they eat there.

We've done both for breakfast and while the princesses were nice at PSB, DD8 thinks eating in Cinderella's castle for breakfast is a must! There is just something about 'the' castle. If this is her first trip, I'd say every little girl should eat in the castle once with Cinderella and her princess friends. DD liked PSB, but while planning our trip this year, the first thing she asked was if we were going to be invited to eat in the castle again. She hasn't even mentioned PSB. It was nice, but didn't leave that magical impression the castle did. We've eaten in the castle 3 times for breakfast, and it has been magical each time. Have you considered doing both? 6 is such a wonderful age, and if she loves princesses, they would both be magical. Either way, enjoy and have fun!!!

Having done both many times...we now choose Norway Princess Breakfast. We get to see Princesses that aren't everywhere like Mulan and Jasmine and it's less money now. My girls are so excited to see the princesses that they don't eat their meals so I don't want to pay all that money when we have done the castle and can see Cinderella in Toontown. Now..if you have never done the Castle before, I would definitely try it once...it's an experience! And..I do miss our yearly picture with the Fairy Godmother in the Lobby.

Also having done both many times, we'd choose PSB over CRT because of the amount of princesses and the lower price!

The breakfast meal at PSB is our favoirte but we'd done lunch just to see Ariel and it was pretty good too!

The CRT has location/atmosphere going for it, I'll give you that, and it's worth it to eperience it once, but it's not worth the outrageous price to do it more than once, IMHO.

My vote was for PSB! :thumbsup2

I have not done Akershus as the Princess's meal, but I do love their food so I would pick them..

Admitedly, I have not been to either, but I'm posting second-hand info from a mom in DD's dance class who just got back from Disney.

This was their first time ever in the parks, so they ended up going to both the Castle for breakfast at CRT and the princess lunch at Akershus. She said that, hands down, she would recommend Akershus over CRT. First, the food was great. But, moreover, the kids had more time with the princesses than they did at CRT. She said that Cindy came by for only a few seconds at each table and then left. She didn't even sign their autograph books, but instead passed out a separate piece of paper with her "autograph." No time for talking to the kids or getting pictures. Total waste of $, in her opinion. Now, the princesses at Akershus were totally different and spent time with the kids, talked to them, posed for photos, and signed books. Maybe other had different experiences with the characters at CRT. I realize that the location matters to some people, but since my DD is young enough to not even know that CRT exists, I think she'd like the interaction better than eating in the castle.

We did both in August, both the first seating of the day. We did Akershus for DD's 14th bday and I will flat out say I was dissapointed. The interaction was ok the food was decent it just did not have that "extra" to me. We will not go again for breakfast. If we have another little girl we will go at least once for lunch because of being able to see legged Ariel because it is the only place she is at.

On the other hand we had breakfast the day before at CRT and it was magical! The food was awesome, the waitstaff was awesome. We also had a different experience from the PP because the character interaction at CRT was awesome for us. Then you have the wishing ceremony which is precious. Cindy was not upstairs only down for your picture that comes with the meal. She was spending about 5 minutes or so per family talking with the kids etc. CRT is to our family a don't miss experience on each trip. My husband has already said that when DD and I spend our "princess day" I am not allowed to go to CRT without him ... even if we are going again during our trip.

That is too bad... we ate at both the Akershus and CRT (Akershus for Dinner and CRT for Lunch) We LOVED the food at CRT.. the food at Akershus was ok.
As for the time with the princesses. At CRT when you walk into the castle Cinderella is right there before you go upstairs to eat. We had more than enough time to have pics taken. We had one with her and DDs and then another with her and the whole family. She then signed each DDs books. (They have a person right there to take your books so she can sign them)

The Ambiance of the Palace is truly wonderful. Just something about eating in Cinderells Castle. So, in that respect CRT is a great choice.

Akershus... Belle is the featured princess. She stands right inside for pics and autographs. We had GREAT interactions with all the princesses at BOTH !

Cinderella was actually at Akershus for us as well.

We took our 3 and 10 year old nieces to the Princess Breakfast in Norway and they loved it. We decided on breakfast because the girls are picky when it comes to food but love all breakfast items. It was great, we had 8:35 ressies, first ones in the park and first ones seated for breakfast. We saw Belle, Aurora, Mulan and Ariel...I think there was one more Princess to see but once Ariel made her visit the girls were ready to go.

The reason we picked Norway was easy...PRICE! Plus the girls saw Cinderella in Toon Town.

We've done both several times and for us, it's Askerhus. Our servers have always been wonderful and the food is delicious. Great princess interaction.

CRT-the only thing good is it's in the castle. The food is not good and the servers are adequate at best. The servers are less than enthusiastic. it's a kid's meal and you'd think they could be a teeny bit excited.

We've done lunch and dinner at Askershus (sp?) but have booked CRT lunch for our 6-year-old daughter next year. I'm not expecting fine food and I know we're paying too much but I think she'll get a big kick out of eating at the castle. We're visiting Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique right before lunch. Maybe I should put her on a pirate cruise to balance it all out.

HI-- I hope you don't mind, but I am confused with these two meals... I was wondering if you guys could clarify for me-- the CRT meal-- are the Princesses at Breakfast AND Lunch, or just the Breakfast?

Also-- just out of curiousity-- we were there in May 06-- Belle and Mulan were both present for breakfast, but Ariel showed up for lunch in her wedding gown-- does anyone know which other princesses are usually there for lunch? (DD4 LOVES Ariel-- esp. in the wedding dress!)

thanks!
jen

Breakfast and Lunch at the castle are character dining. Dinner is not though the fairy godmother does host. Our family (dh, dd's 1 and 4, myself, my parents - both 58) loved the food, I couldn't get enough of the potatoes myself- yummy. My 4 year old still talks about meeting Cinderella in her 'castle' so personally if a little one really likes princess' and castles then this is the place to go!

Here is some more information for the Breakfast and Lunch at the castle. I can not comment on Akershus because I have never been there but the information for it is below:

thanks! I was going to try and do a lunch instead of breakfast and then someone told me breakfast only had princesses.. so I was confused!

Thanks for clearing it up for me!

Your welcome! I've heard that making a later lunch is better because you get more interaction - but I have not personally tried that out. Anyone?

Tough call. We've been to both, and enjoyed them both. Akershus was a bit more relaxed, not crammed in or as rushed as CRT. But....there's just something magical about eating in the castle- this is the only thing my dgd5 asked to to again this year. So we're going back to CRT this month. Whichever you choose, I'm sure she'll enjoy!
