Every trip we have our traditions, i.e. Chef Mickey, CP, LTT, etc. plus we try one different character meal. We're thinking lunch or dinner with the Princesses at Norway/Akerhus. We ate there in 1997 when it was buffet only.
I already printed the menu from allears.net, but need a little clarification on how the HOT food is ordered/served--i.e. do you order and just get one entree or can you try any or all for one price. As always thanks in advance for any help!! :earsboy:

As I understood it, it is suposed to be that you order an entree, but can then order more of a different one if you like.

We went there last Tuesday because we loved it back in 2000. It was a big disapointment. Most of the problem was our server -she did not like the idea of having a party of 15 on the dining plan. She insisted on getting our bills "over with" before serving desert. There was at least 30 to 45 minutes between our finishing with the entrees and getting desert.

I also didn't like my meal. I ordered the braised lamb. The description just says braised lamb with cabbage and potatoes -all of which I normally like. What they fail to say is that is is COVERED in peppercorns. I like pepper, but not that much. My husband had the fish (cod?) and he let me have a bite -now that was good! My brother had some strange sounding dish that translated to "meat cake" that was pretty tasty too. I love to try new and different food so my dislike of the meal has nothing to do with the exotic nature of the place.

Given our poor service, it was impossible to ask for another dish. If we had had a different waitress, it may have been a better experience.

princess: princess: I am wanting to take my daughter for breakfast. We went to 1900 park fare last year for Cinderella and friends. But, this time I wanted more Princesses. She loved the dinner last year, she even dressed as Cinderella....we went during Halloween. I got a picture of her sitting in Cinderella's lap that would make a great advertisement for Disney!!!! I am hoping that this trip is just as special!! :flower:

I took my three daughters just recently for lunch. The whole experience is very rushed. The app's are pre-plated. I didnt care for any of it really. The chix and shrimp salad were warm, mayo should be cold. Then you had a choice of entree but I never saw anyone get more than one. The pasta I had with chix was very good. The kids pasta and meatballs also were very good. Dessert comes pre-plated too. The rice cream and mouse were yummy, the tarts were just fine, all was plentiful. The princesses didnt come till we were through with dessert and we were in the main room. The server was hard to find,we wanted more white bread and ranch dressing and it took awhile. I won't be going back,we went to the MK and saw the princesses in the tent and that was just fine!!!!!!! :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

For what it is worth, we did the Princess Breakfast at Norway last year. IT was not rushed. The Princesses spent a lot of time with the kids. Breakfast was served family style in skillets. The food was good. I read too much here that character meals other than breakfast are hit and miss. You may want to consider breakfast here if you have flexibility in your touring.

PS we booked Akerhaus for Princess breakfast again this year.

what princesses do the breakfast? We already had the cinderella and friends and wanted something different. We also saw all the princesses in the tent, she liked that too. princess:
