They couldn't change the reservation. Something about not being sure if the park was really going to be open until 7 and still only taking ADR til 4:30. Said to call back at the end of September.

September? Seems like waiting til the last minute to change an ADR is bad advice. We'll try again next week and the week after that and the week....

We're going to be there the first two weeks of October. Here's where I'm frustrated. This is NOT the same as HS. First off, HS has always had nighttime hours. Secondly, HS does not have as many attractions that will be different experiences at night. The only one at HS that qualifies as 'different' at night is Tower of Terror.

Disney has been promoting AK as a new nighttime experience. There is more to that experience than ROL. Sunset/Nighttime Safari, Everest at night, the Tree of Life. All of those are unique and different experiences than what you get during the day.

Given that, if AK closes at 7:30, even if there is a ROL/JB show at 8:00, after park closure, you just won't have any time to do those other things. When Sunset is 7:10, how do you do a sunset safari (25 minute commitment) and ride Everest both before 7:30, and then make it over to ROL/JB by 8 o'clock. The timing to do all that is not feasible.

I would expect a 7:30 and 8:30 ROL. They could do this as well as close at 8pm. I agree it's not ideal but it could happen. I don't think we will see anything beyond 9pm except for *maybe* EMH.

Similarly to how one can view F! And DHS fireworks on the same night both after park close, I'm sure you can see ROL and the Tree of Life after park close.

If the only do ROL/JB show and close right after sunset then that eliminates night-time safari, night-time Everest, Night-time entertainment and worst of all Tree of Life Awakenings.
