AK in the rain?

Today is our first disney day and we are scheduled for AK. We have ADRs and fastpasses lined up. And if anyone else is here right now, you know that it is raining cats and dogs! Is AK any fun in the rain? specifically, we have kilominjaro safari at 11. Will all the animals be in hiding?

Animals aren't afraid of getting wet - in fact, they tend to enjoy it.

DH and I did AK a couple of years ago in torrential rain. I can't say it was the best ever day for sure. It was so bad that the CMs at the FotLK allowed us to stay and watch the show 2 more times so we didn't have to go back out in the rain. Ever see it rain sideways? Puddles way above our ankles. Lots of indoor things at AK. I hope it's not a total wash out for you.

You can still have a great time as long as there is no lightning. Some animals thrive in the rain, others hide from it. And hey no worries about getting wet on kali river rapids

If you get washed out, go to Animal Kingdom Lodge, particularly Kidani Village, great lunch options SOOO good at Sana'a, and watch the animals playing from inside. We did this a few weeks ago and it was drizzling and the animals were feisty and active and giraffes and zebra were running around while we watched comfy and from inside..I think there is even a fireplace to sit by! Kidani offers the most intimate animal savannah, I liked it better than Jambo House myself. It was a day like paradise! What a fabulous resort! It's like watching your own safari, from inside (or outside if it does clear and you want to walk around) and no bumpy jeep or 20 min time limit or lines either...and no admission required either. And they have GF Naan bread!!!

Definitely do FotLK and Nemo Musical, and Bug's Life. All good options indoors. I think EP has the best tho for bad weather, lots of pavilions in Future World.

I've noticed all the rain the last several days too! Seems pretty standard this time of year. Make the best of it - you're at Disney World! Have a great trip!
